Is there a way to change the enemy team (say in ufreeze) colors from the normal blue or red, to say, bright pink or green? I saw some people talking about it on a server, but they would not reveal their information to me.... not sure why that was. tia -- M -------------------------------------- Blessed are the geek, for they shall inheret the Earth.

You cannot bind "", but it will work if execed in a config. Therefore, F3 returns everything to stock models, and ] turns everyone else to tankjr. I'm not positive about Ufreeze mod, but the settings should be very similar. You can probably find the color codes, and enemy_model variables in a readme. -- "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities" - Voltaire

Right again SD - the settings are similar, but not exactly the same. I may well set up an autoexec one day - but untill I get smarter and less lazy, its 'set n' play' for me. Cheers - -- M

If the server is UNpure (sv_pure 0) and you have zz-osp-pak0.pk3 copied to baseq3, it WILL work. So will other osp commands like ch_drawspeed, etc. If the server is sv_pure 1 it will not allow the pk3, so the settings won't work. -- "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities" - Voltaire

For a while there, I felt that changing enemy colours to bright green or something was cheating. I could see other players so well that I really did have an edge on those not using the change. Interestingly enough, when I stopped forcing models, I found it difficult to spot normal blue and red players in the game! Now after some research though, having seen what wall hacks and aimbots look like, I feel pretty confident that the line between cheating and not cheating is in the use of hacks - not config. Sure configs can make play easier, but thats no competition on being able to see through walls and auto-aiming IMO>. -- M

My first impression of Vista's Explorer is that it's not a patch on XP's for anyone other than a computer novice. <g> -- Jack of Hearts in The Eeeeevil Cabal (TINC...) Website currently down. That way when you reformat and do a fresh install of windows, you simply create a shortcut to quake3.exe and you're good to go again. :)

Anyone with any sense - first and foremost - keeps a backup, so that IF you have to reformat/reinstall, there's much less to restore. As such Quake III Arena goes under (gasp!) Hey, no one if forcing you to learn anything here, you can do things the old- fashioned noob way if you want. Some of us have learned that windows runs a lot better if it's isolated on it's own partition.

As someone who's been building PCs since 1981 I shouldn't care less about this, but it's nothing but an invitation to an argument to claim that using a default location for installation is the mark of a "noob". Installation of a package on another drive doesn't require much technical experience though, does it? I suppose such is valid, if one needs to tweak the machine that much to get a reasonable boost in performance. I remember when one had to pay attention to cluster size on the HDD to get good performance, but after IDE drives had been out for a few years this was a fairly meaningless tweak, eventually just quoted to me by people who wanted to impress me with their alleged technical prowess. Me? Perfectly happy at 2.5G right now and I haven't started overclocking beyond the pedestrian as yet. :) -- Stephen Goodman * * Cartoons about DVDs and Stuff * http://www.earthlight.net/HiddenTrack * The Loop Of The Week since 1996! * http://www.earthlight.net/Studios

You either have no clue what a drive image is, or didn't even read my previous post. Keeping programs and other documents and data off of the OS partition makes it EASIER to do backups, IMO. > As someone who's been building PCs since 1981 I shouldn't care less > about this, but it's nothing but an invitation to an argument to claim > that using a default location for installation is the mark of a "noob". > Installation of a package on another drive doesn't require much > technical experience though, does it? Some people like thier PCs to run as efficently and logically as possible. Most of my computers are set up for specific tasks, and speed is not really a concern.

Drive images are only efficient as a backup method if [a] you've got the duplicate disk space, and [b] you run the backup nightly while out of the office. In addition restoration is fine at achieving a full bring-back, but what about the work one has done since 3am? >> As someone who's been building PCs since 1981 I shouldn't care less >> about this, but it's nothing but an invitation to an argument to claim >> that using a default location for installation is the mark of a "noob". >> Installation of a package on another drive doesn't require much >> technical experience though, does it? > > Some people like thier PCs to run as efficently and logically as possible. > Not everyone has the experience, expertise, desire, or patience to take > the > steps that are neccesary. Some folks just use their PCs as tools and don't have a need to fiddle with them. How many do you have, just for interest's sake?
