It's so bloody long ago now I have no idea. But since I just completely randomly ran into Jostein on Twitter, I thought I'd come and say hi. Also, I saw knäckebröd in IKEA the other day and it made me think of you guys... particularly the ervaqreous one, who I see hasn't changed. I have, I'm afraid. I'm old and decrepit now and sincerely doubt I can get my legs behind my head anymore. :( <3 snr0n

You were definitely around already when I showed up, I can't be arsed to check the RRRRRRRRRRRRwhatevers now but I think you've got a year or two on me. Did you come in through the AGC connection originally?

Poking back through Google Groups (pretty effective way to procrastinate in the face of looming work deadlines, btw), looks like I lurked here through a lot of '99 and only posted a few times that year, and mostly as Saera (which was the name I used everywhere except AGC and alt.games.diablo). Horrifyingly, I think I actually might have been responsible for the AGC connection, as I started posting there in '98. I think I mentioned the group in here and then Reinder started posting over there, maybe? Does anyone else remember it differently? I found a crosspost I started in January 2000, but it seemed like the groups had already met before that. It's srs bsns, guys: I downloaded Xnews. But I always used to use Netscape's newsreader, so apologies if I somehow noob this up completely. <3 snr0n

I think I mentioned the > group in here and then Reinder started posting over there, maybe? Does > anyone else remember it differently? I found a crosspost I started in > January 2000, but it seemed like the groups had already met before that. it happened like this: a long, long time ago, i wondered how old aglamians were, so then some girl called saera who had never posted before and as such was a total newbie said she was 14. obviously, all of us aglamians were very much delighted, because we weren't used to female beings in our newsgroup. anyway, so you started posting for a while and, since those days people had those huge .sigs with "holder of 20 whatever ng points" in it, it happened that parasite and me sort of stalked you into a little place called alt.dragons-inn, where somehow a discussion about agc was going on. i got interested and subscribed to AGC, posting moronic stuff like "waaaahhh!! i am crazy!! tsjakka!!! mwuahahaha!!". a few months and several crotchpotses later, agc people such as john f. ievins, atob and luke also came over to aglami. so yes, you were responsible, sort of. btw, remember how ievins (ievins, not levins) used to ramble about religion all the time? if I'm not mistaken, he's now some sort of relief worker. imagine that. i'd rather have sheldon from the big bang theory comfort me. > It's srs bsns, guys: I downloaded Xnews. DG is a mighty pirate... TRIM YER QUOTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >> | IJke (3 March 2002) >> > According to this I never posted. Well, have you ever posted? I mean, can you prove that you, at some point in the past, posted to alt.games.lucas-arts.monkey-island? But actually you must have, since you're in the RRRRR you do not have to prove it. I just looked up your entry in the most recent draft, which says: "Danny has one plant" and "Danny claims that the uil says Oehoeroeboeroe" Now if only we could find a way to extrapolate this information to determine when you first posted. -- ervaqre is teh wicked

I now have seven plants. One is named Chuck, I've had it since 1994 or so and is in permanent near death. The others are more recent additions, one of those, a ficus, is losing all its foliage. So by the time your draft is finalized I might be down to 6 or even 5. I'm thinking of calling one of the plants Sushi. My life is full of excitement. -- Danny.

Oh, how odd that we'd be talking about AGC in alt.dragons-inn; I only remember going there to roleplay (and, from the one post I found of mine, I appeared to be roleplaying some mashup of Myst mythology and the works of Anne McCaffrey... I kind of want to hug 15-year-old me, so cute and dorky), I don't remember any OOC discussions with people. Was it definitely alt.dragons-inn and not alt.fan.dragons? Also, Tobby and Luke were originally from AGC? How weird, I definitely associate them more with this group. > btw, remember how ievins (ievins, not levins) used to ramble about > religion all the time? if I'm not mistaken, he's now some sort of > relief worker. imagine that. i'd rather have sheldon from the big bang > theory comfort me. Oh, my. This is disturbing on a number of levels, one of which is that you appear to like The Big Bang Theory. ;P I've really tried to like that show (actually, I forced myself to watch every episode in the process), and I think it did get better in the later seasons, but it's still just not that funny. I think the overenthusiastic laugh track is so irritating it actually makes the show seem even less funny, heh. But, yes, Ievins. I love that when you google him now, a bunch of the first-page results are about JISBUs. :D >> It's srs bsns, guys: I downloaded Xnews. [I'm on Google Froups at work, hence the name change] Yeah, I doubt it too, and I wouldn't have much to say to him anyway. Digging back through really old emails, I found one from him saying he didn't have much interest in ever coming back here... but he did apologise for a lot of our arguments, which was pretty cool of him. <3 snr0n

Do you by any chance still have our old emails? One thing I really regret is that when I left school I didn't take a copy of all my emails from my school email account. (I just have a nostalgic thing about stuff from my past so it'd be great to see that again if you have them)

This one friend is an inanimate plant called Chuck. You added this "friend" because you actually want to talk to him.. err it. Meaning that you do not talk Chuck when you see him..err.. it in his pot in your house (I suppose that where he.. err.. it is). In my previous post I recommended that you start talking to yourself in the world of text, but I am not really sure what to recommend here. *carefully steps back into the darkness* > Care to be my facebook-friend, Reinder? :-) *runs away screaming like a maniac* ...oh, and I don't do this Facebook thing. Plant so many trees that in a few years there will be some eerie, murky forest. Once completed, you can sell it to China. They still haven't figured out how to plant forests, or even just a few trees, here in the Celestial Kingdom. Two months ago, when the daily maximum temperature would never exceed -10, they suddenly planted hundreds of trees in front of my window. Some weeks later those trees all died, so they just removed them again.
