MoM: Death settlers?

I could use just a little help about death settlers.

OK, my ghouls kill merlins settlers, and I get death settlers. But they
can not build death cities.

I have heard that it has to be during a bad moon, but I haven't tried it
yet. I also read somewhere that it had to be next to a death node.

A What????

I do not recall ever seeing a death node. Does it exist? What only during
bad moons? How do I find it?

Also, what does a death city give you?

Skeletons, Ghouls and nasties like that. Do they cost any upkeep?

Please answer!

Matt

Well I've never seen a death settler before. Kinda funny.
UNdead creatures only cost you money if you SUMMON them via a spell.
And then you can click on the unit to see what it costs you in mana to keep
them around. If I remember correctly Skeltons cost 1 mana per unit, not 0 as
it says in the manual.
There is no such thing as a DEATH CITY. Nor a DEATH NODE. There also
aren't LIFE CITIES nor LIFE NODES
A BAD MOON only increases the mana and such that evil dudes get from their
shrines, temples, etc.
But you can get MANA from ANY node. No matter what your skills.
IE: no need for Nature spells to use a NATURE node. The most common place to
find DEATH or LIFE spells & spellbooks are in RUINS and in Planar Tower.
Hope this clears things up for you.
Death magic is the hardest to play, and so I use alot of it for the challenge
it presents. LIFE is the easiest, and hence the dullest.

That's because you have to buld them on the Graveyards. They're rare
little things that you often find near swamps.

To create a Death Node, you have to corrupt a node of a wizard who has
life magic during a Bad Moon. Use the "Fnord" spell to finalize the ritual.

Of course! Just like your normal cities have to pay upkeep on troops,
so do your Cities of the Dead. Remember, the two things you cannot
escape are Death and Taxes.

The most useful thing about the Death Cities is that they never have
unrest (besides the amount necessary to animate their restless dead,
obviously). The bad thing about the Death Cities is that they
can't generate mana for you, since they really don't care about all
those shrines and temples. On the other hand, once you build a
Necropolis (5 gold upkeep) and can toss out those Death Knights in
four turns or so, the extra mana cost may be worth it.

Basically, if you're already an all-Black sort of Wizard, I wouldn't
bother with a City of the Dead (especially considering how tough
they are to make). Zombie Mastery gives you about the same thing
and about for much less trouble. On the other hand, those Wraith
Halbardiers with Negate First Strike and Life Drain sure come in handy.

>Please answer!

I hope this was what you wanted.

Ok Ok Ok. Boy do I feel stupid. As one person responded, OK, I do need
to be slapped. Mia Culpa

In my own defense though..... nope, couldn't think of one, guess I'll
just have to swollow it ;-).

Plotting my revenge, (not really, but it looks good)
