Ok finished the game with Humans. Found it to be really easy,
except the last 2 but only provided minor annoyance. So go over to the
custom scenarios and try: Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. The map's the
same size as the first mission, very small. I choose (to my later utter
fright) 3 comp players, thinking that would be challenging.

It's layed out so each team has one corner, separated by a thin
wooded area shaped like a cross. I enables the 'showpath' cheat to see
if the computer had some unfair advantage over me. It DID NOT!!! Each
team started with one peasant or peon just like me.

10 Minutes later all 3 teams charged in and quickly laid waste to
me. I hang my head in shame....

I'd like to hear if anyone can finish this one vs 3 comps. I'm
going to try with 2 next time. Mabye I'll last 20 minutes instead :<

Any other really cool custom scenario missions built in someone
can reccomend?

Interesting. I read your post and tried it with 3 cpu opponents, and I beat it
withing 15 minutes without any cheating. Though I saved several times, I never
loaded. This level is so straight forward if you play it right.

Hint hint, don't ever let the thin wooded area be broken, not even a small
gap. Build 3 towers at the 3 cornors facing the enemy will kill off anyone
who's chopping trees. Once they can't get any more lumber. the cpu players
will send waves and waves of peons to get lumber, and hence to be killed by
your towers. They will also send any army they already have to stand in front
of the wood barrier to feed your towers. Just take care of your peons and let
them always leave some trees there when they are chopping. By the time you can
not get ang lumber without breaking the tree barrier yourself, you are already
rich enogh to build an army to wipe out all the 3 components, who have no army
other than a couple of peons.

Of course at the beginning you have to build fast enough so that you can get
guard/cannon towers before their peons break the tree barrier. What I built
were

1 town hall -> 1 farm -> 4 more peons -> 1  farm -> 4 more peons ->
lumber mill -> gurad tower -> blacksmith -> cannon tower -> cannon tower

Have fun.

Thanks. I'll try that. I never built guard towers in the single
player game, so I didn't see a need in the custom scenarios. I guess in
these tight situations, they're pretty good.

I did try to keep the peon army from breaking through the wood
barrier to no avail the first time. Maybe cuz it was the first time I
was a little overwhelmed (yeah lousy excuse I know :>) I'll try again
using your strategy.

Your best defense are walls and towers. The computer will not attack the
wall. It will however produce dragons and blow you away from the sky.
So you'll need both canon and guard towers, for better defense.

These scenarios are really maps designed for head-to-head play, so once you
figure out a technique, there is really nothing to it. This map in
particular is fun for a quick blood bath with 4 players:) However, against
the computer, use guard towers. They only require a Luber Mill, so they can
be built quickly. place them as close to the tree border as possible, they'l
keep peasants from opening up a path to your area.. Remember, you're limited
in space on this map so place your farms, lumber mill, etc. carefully and
don;t build unnecessary buildings. Once you cut off his lumber supply, it's
over:)

Try the "Veteran Scenarios". They will give you a challenge if you don't use
any cheat codes. To get to these scenarios, go to single player - custom
game. them change where it says "Built In Scenario" to "Custom Scenario".
There are 7 veteran scenarios I think....
