When trying to run Quake using the Win95 or Win98 compatibility mode I get the errors: Unable to link to KERNEL32.DLL Cannot load WDIRxxF.DLL Running Quake in WinXP SP2 crashes often for me. Any way of fixing this? Thanks.

eQuake/FUHQuake are complete engine makeovers. They are NOT original Quake and don't play like they are. To date, I haven't found a complete command/var list for FUH. Their game isn't doable for me, I don't play it, and I don't recommend it. McG. Despite default settings that enable some graphical upgrades, they can look exactly like GLQuake/GLQuakeWorld, which is how I've always used FuhQuake at least. It's not like they change the game physics, or even the sound or graphics (if you've got them set back to old-fashioned settings). > To date, I haven't found a complete command/var list for FUH. That's true, some of the settings are different, but some of the old ones people were used to are no longer needed. > Their game isn't doable for me, I don't play it, Your loss. > and I don't recommend it. I do. Virtually anyone who plays Quake online these days is using it, too.

Try WinQuake. It is a win32 native version of quake (netquake) and is an id software compile that they put out in early '97 I think. Try WinQuake. It is a win32 native version of quake (netquake) and is an id software compile that they put out in early '97 I think. It used to be on id's ftp server and ftp.cdrom.com back in the days. It's out there somewhere.
