How much should one spend on luxuries to keep there >cities reasonable happy? I assume you've already built temples, marketplaces, etc? Well, then you could increase the lux rate by a bit to prevent civil disorder, or move the populace around the city map. The latter is great if your cities are growing faster than you can control, and you still haven't built that cathedral yet. AND you can be selective about placing the population, ie, you can take someone off say, the fish, (to slow down growth) and put someone else on, say, a mine, so u can hurry up with that bank, (or whatever.) > >I am also being penalized big time for pollution, even tho' I have two or >three settlers that do nothing but clean up. Is it because I NUKED the >Greeks three times? HAH! On my last emporer lvl game, I nuked the greeks THIRTY-TWO times! This gave me like a -760 score due to pollution, and about 4 cases of ice-caps melting and droughts. Of course, I managed to clear the mess up just before I finished. WW-III? Nahh... more like WW-IV! At the end, all costal squares were either swamp or jungle, and all my larger cities were starving to death, (but then, so were those damn Greeks!! =) > >I have also noticed postings about a CIV upgrade.
