Playing a game with a >level 20 Minsc and Jaheira wouldn't as fun as leveling up new characters >from scratch. It was bad enough with Baldur's Gate 2, especially since >high level magic in the that game degenerated into cracking invulnerablity >spells. I'm playing through ToB now for the first time with my old imported party from BG2. I have a main monk + Keldorn, Sarevok, Jaheira, Imoen & Jan. Looking back now, I think an all monk/fighter party would have been a better option, with high level passives, MR, neg plane protection, as well as good regen (& a boatload of potions of course). Maybe 3 melee & 3 ranged chars, perhaps a monk/undead hunter/fighter & some archers. All that counter-spelling with mages is a pain in the arse really. My monk alone can wipe out most opponents solo, as he has 102%MR (+ cloak of mirroring & high resists to other stuff), -12 THAC0, -9 AC, -7 to all saves & does 4 attacks per round at base 1-20 +8/+13 to hit/dmg, not to mention all his immunities or special abilities, which is just obscene really. His general independence of magic items makes him extremely powerful & versatile imo - I might clone 5 more of him & create a party of 6 monks just for shits & giggles & see how much they can steamroll without blinking :). -- Nostromo
