Yes, Drakensang borrows a lot from MMOs, including the parts that are
completely extraneous to a SP game, namely the artificial timesinks like
having to wait to harvest plants or skin animals. Crafting works the same
way as in MMOs: most of the stuff you can make is useless crap, and the few
good items you can make will still cost you an arm and a leg in materials.

Yes. The game is long and interesting enough to keep you involved, but it
has some obvious design flaws. The things it did not borrow from MMOs was
the freedom to explore the world and cohesive, seamless zones. The game
basically consists of a bunch of discrete areas that will only be accessible
during the relevant leg of the main quest. You can't go places before you
need to and you can't go back after you're done. I'm not sure if the low
price tag makes it a good deal, or merely an appropriate one.

Also, perhaps not a major sticking point unless you actually like to
understand the dice rolls going on behind the scenes, but a lot of the
explanatory text is either poorly translated or inaccurate with regard to
how the spells, tests, etc. work.
