Ok, I've built my palettes, and spent copiuos amounts of time studying the levels in the demo. So far I've managed to get death sensors to operate properly, and so I moved on to trying to get the pulsing light thing to work as it does on the first demo level where the power_fast item is. I set and linked the sensors and the dimmer and the lights exactly how that setup was and it doesn't pulse. I see no other links (I tried gate pulse, but that didn't work, either) Any ideas? Thanx, Steve

I see no other links (I tried gate pulse, but that : didn't work, either) There are many ways to get the flashing lights, but the most common method is to use a sensor with an off field of 1 or some other small number, that way when the player enters the on area it automatically turns off, unless the player is in the really small off field area, which is almost impossible. Connect the dimmer to the sensor. You can then connect the dimmer to other lights to get those lights to flash or you could leave the dimmer unlinked to other lights and that way it will effect the ambient, and all the lights in the area will flash.

Ie, if you link a button of some sort to a gate, you'll get nowhere, unless you really want to change the status of the button based on the gate. You have to link the gate to the button. That said, I can't get edited levels working *at all*. I either get an unlit level, or level with a start arrow but no player. Patching existing levels I can take, but starting from scratch.. nope.
