I played Zork on my C64 back in the 1980s and enjoyed it. But, for the last ~20+ years, each time that I tried to play a text adventure, I soon lost interest. When I tried again recently, I realized something that I had never put together before - playing on the C64 had caused me to form a bad habit - creating my maps on paper. Nowadays, I can create my maps using a text editor. When I played on the C64, I couldn't simultaneously open a terminal window and run a text editor. Nor did I have a second computer (or PDA or cell phone or tablet) on which to run a text editor. It's still early, but I hope that having my map in a text file (and searchable via text search) will help me recapture some of that old enjoyment of text adventures. -- Eddie
