I am an OSX user, the games situation thanks to steam is better than 
Linux but worse than Windows. Of my 178 games in my Steam Library about 
78 are available also for OSX. Not that I bother to much about this (see 
below)

As for frame rates etc... hard to compare most OSX user including me 
only use their notebooks. The desktop machines are not affordable 
anymore for the average user and the notebooks do not have the fastest 
graphics cards models integrated.

OSX machines are nice work horses, I love to do my daily programming job 
on OSX, but gaming on those machines, forget it mostly (same goes for 
the average windows notebook computer)
Most of the times I play on my osx machines is by using inhome streaming 
and have the pc host the game.
