You don't have to toss your sound card to work with the Diamond, just
keep using it and don't use the EDGE's sound system. Frankly, I don't
see it as a "major lure" that one card requires another SVGA card, as
no sound and no video enhancement, and costs $50-$100 more. The
creative card is a rip-off by comparison.

Frankly, a lot of gamers still don't have wavetable, or a card that
can accelerate video. The Diamond can even use video as texture maps.
The Diamond also has SEGA's support for Saturn cross-overs, and a
digital joystick port to use Sega Saturn joysticks, etc. Its feature
list absoluely grinds the Creative board into the ground, for less.
But we'll have to see the games first to truly compare, but I just
find it amusing that a board with 1/4 of the features for a higher
price is a "major lure". Major ripoff is more like it.

And since the Creative 3D blaster needs a SVGA card, how many 486
VL-BUS owners can use it? Due to VL-BUS's strains on the CPU, many
486 motherboards don't have 3 VL bus slots- once you get past two, you
start bogging the CPU down. I already have a VL-BUS ide controller
and VL-BUS SVGA card- no empty slots for me. Only Creative.
