The $349 is probably the MSRP and will be lower on the street. I think the major lure of this card is that it will work in conjunction with your current video card (I spent $220 on a Diamond Stealth) and does NOT come with sound built in (I have a Sound Blaster AWE32). So, I'm not going to trash these two cards to buy one with 2D video acceleration and digital sound built-in. I think ALOT of people are in the same situation as me. Also, the Creative card accelerates polygons and the Diamond card does something different so there might be a speed difference in 3D acceleration. Don't know for sure. One thing I do know is that by the time I'm ready to buy one, there will be lots to choose from. Cheers, Todd.
