Firstly, if I understand correctly, the difficulty bug means that all levels of difficulty in the game are exactly the same. Is this true? Or is it just there's not enough difference. And, does the difficulty bug also have an effect on the CE version of X-Com 1? I read something about it still being an issue after some X-Com patch, but it wasn't clear to me if it was just for the original DOS one or for the newer one. I recently played it again and beat it on one of the middle difficulty levels and don't want to waste my time playing another game at a harder level if it's just going to be more of the same. Thanks. -- Josh Howard <jrh@spam.pottedmeat.org>

I belive the patch did fix that, and Scott Jones edits also corrected that. Don't quote me I'm probably wrong Raille

You can also use XComUtil to increase the difficulty on UFO to more than Superhuman by using the LVL command but it's better to read the documentation first.
