I think of the regulars on this newgroup as my friends, so I thought you might enjoy hearing about this. I have always maintained my resume on my web site, because I don't like the faceless contacts we usually have on the Internet. However, my resume seems to have made me the target of an Internet hoax. The first I heard of this was a chat message out of nowhere, yesterday, telling me that I was at the center of a hot discussion on the Internet. So far, only 4 people have contacted me by e-mail and 2 by chat, but the notes are getting weirder. The latest one asked me if I could identify the original source of a diagram of a supposed time machine. To see what started all of this, look at the following web page: http://www.anomalies.net/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=9;t=000928 I am not sure what to do about this. Removing my resume would probably only make things worse, because the fanatics will think I am trying to hide something. Posting to the forum might end the discussion, but it might draw even more attention. For now, I will just wait and see what happens. ------------------------------- Scott T Jones Author of XCOMUTIL (current version 9.42) Author of APOCUTIL (current version 1.00) ------------------------------- http://XcomUtil.ScottTJones.com

I think you'd do well to stay away from that forum. You DO NOT want to be an actor in their fantasies. Besides, what are you going to do on that forum, hold a rational discussion? Yeah right! Let it blow over. Failing that, travel back in time and kill off the mother to be of the topic starter. As an experienced time traveller you would know killing fathers is less reliable! ;) PS Is this Titor fellow a known Lala-Land entity?

That's your fifteen minutes of fame used up. :) I especially loved how the one guy thought he could do "psychological reading" from your resume and that PROVED things. Heh. As for the whole Titor thing, given that we're not in the middle of his predicted civil war yet, along with everything else, I'd lean toward the "hoax" angle. I'm sure whoever did it is never gonna admit it, anyway. - Bluemage

I couldn't find any mention of Scott on that page.

Which time traveller would win in a fight using all their powers and
