Gamers:

I'm currently working on a research assignment for a class
here at UT. As my study concerns computer gaming, I figured
one of the best sources of information would be the gamers
themselves, right? So, I'd like to request a little of your
time and thought.

I've provided a few questions below. Answer each as it applies
and, if you'd like, you may provide any additional comments at
the end. I apologize if my cross-post has offended any of you.
I attempted to follow all "netiquette" guidelines, but I may have
made a major faux pas. Again, I apologize.

Please e-mail your replies to: al...@mail.utexas.edu

Of course, I will credit you in my final product (a WWW site).

The Questions:
--------------

1. What was your first experience in computer gaming?
Also, what type(s) of game(s) do you play today? On what
system(s)?

2. Have you ever upgraded your system just to play a
computer game (or in preparation for future games)?

3. Do you personally feel that the gaming industry has
influenced the computer industry in general? For instance,
consider sound cards. If not for computer games, do you
feel that they'd be a standard part of any system today?

4. What do you see in the future for computer games? How
far off is "true" virtual reality?

5. Any and all additional comments concerning computer
games are greatly appreciated.

Again, I greatly appreciate your time. Thank you.
