I consider making the 5 or 6 JC mounts from MoP so I get the 200 mounts ach as I have 197 mounts on a single char. But 160-200K gold is a bit expensive. Especially because we dont have the discount perk anymore. Anyhoo. It seems like the JC mounts has gone up in price now. On DMF they're AH'ed for 29-30K. -- Peter T.

When 6.2 went live and I learned about the saberstalkers I decided to do the rep and claw farm on my warlock. The void tank is amazing for the job. And when I hit 660ish in ilvl I was able to solo the prime boss in the arena. Honestly. Warlocks are simply made for soloing big things. Even the 4 rares that drops the mounts. Today I soloed the first 75-80% percent of Terrorfist before other players joined thanks to my void tank. :) -- Peter T.

The void is an aggro magnet. So just keep the pet alive. Flames of Xoroth on a button near you. Especially 4x chaos bolts heals the pet massively through the damage spikes. Then there is some classic rep farming in Tanaan. Two of the factions is done in 9-10 days if you do the dailies every day. That is pretty fast imho. The third faction - Saberstalkers - is pure rep killing with a single weekly quest. Okay. The saberstalkers mobs can be tough for some classes while other classes eat them for breakfast. There are loads of saberstalker groups in the LFG finder window. :) According to Blizzard flying is not just by setting a flag in the game. Flying was never intended in this expansion. So they're preparing the environment for the flying part as there are still a few subzones which shouldnt be accessible due to the lore and storyline + some other in-game obstacles which needs to be cleared. -- Peter T.

I completed all the pre-6.2 requirements months ago, and I'm 2/3 of the way through the 6.2 reps now, it's not hard at all. Anyone who's actually played the game more than just sitting in dungeon/raid queues for the last 6 months should be most of the way there, and anyone who's really nowhere near it doesn't play in the outside world enough to even need flying...

And even I, in healer spec, can kill the elites... just slowly, and only one at a time lol, if I get adds it means breaking out every cd I have available ;-) >According to Blizzard flying is not just by setting a flag in the game. > Flying was never intended in this expansion. I believe they weren't sure if it was intended or not, so it's not like the old world that was totally not designed for it with holes in the world and the like, but they do need to sort a few details and invisible walls out, yep.Frankly I was happy with no flying, got used to it easily enough, but if it's going to be allowed I like the way they've chosen to do it, feels kinda like the old-style attunement quests, only soloable this time, it's fun :-)

But there are several stances of the _same_ phases going on on the realms atm. And this causes some big annoyances for many players. I can see a rare on the minimap. When I walk closer it disappears. When I walk away it reappears. If I join a raid I sometimes cant loot as CRZ and phases somehow clashes together and fucks up things. Blizzard are talking about releasing new expansions more frequently. Maybe like a new xpac every year. So we probably get a new expansion around Blizzcon in november this year. What we can and will expect is expansions with even more bugs than we see now... -- Peter T.

Having my hoverboard >dive into the water is even stupider. Haha true :-) I don't like how they look on the ground myself, I just don't really care, since there's more content in Pandaria and Northrend than in Draenor anyway, I go to those continents to fly and use my nice, otherwise unused, ground mounts in Draenor - it's actually been nice seeing ground mounts again recently after years of never going near them; there's some really nice ones out there! >They should never have taken it away in the first place. Their many >stupid decisions for WoD is why the game is failing and hemorrhaging >subscribers. They got a little bump with the expansion, but have now >dropped even lower than before. They've made a lot of stupid decisions, yes, WoD sucks in comparison to past expansions. But I don't think flying was one of them; it really is so unimportant that I don't even see why so many people (on both sides) throw massive tantrums over it, really, there's far more important things they've ruined yet all the focus is on stupid flying. >They had 10 million subscribers at the end of last year. It will be a >fucking miracle if they have more than 50% of that at the end of this >year. > >Their second quarter earnings report should be next month, and I bet >that it will be in the 5 million range, if not lower. Nah, it'll be sitting at around 6.5-7k, same as usual; that's the core subscriber base who never unsub, didn't quit even after 14 months of SoO, etc. Especially with Tanaan patch releasing before the end of the quarter, a few have returned for it, my server's increased in population the last few weeks, nothing like it was at WoD launch but that's a good thing, we were stupidly overpopulated then. I'm totally not impressed with this expansion, but yeah, flying is such a pointless thing to get hung up on, when the things that actually are killing the game get overlooked. Things like... no content outside of raids/pvp for the first 6 months of release. So much stuff in the garrison that you never had a reason to leave it. LFR getting nerfed into pointlessness. professions being completely gutted. Etc etc... being in the air would hardly make up for the extreme lack of anything to actually do at launch! Tanaan has helped on the content front, in all fairness, but it needed to be in 6 months ago. As it is, with this being supposedly the last major patch, it's a complete failure of an expansion as far as I'm concerned, and I'm normally a big fan of this game. And if this really is the last major patch, yet whatever's next isn't even announced, is it going to be another 14+ months of THIS?? Even the core subscribers won't hang around if that's the case...

The Timeless Isle idea is fine at the end of a expansion so seasonal and casual players tastes the feeling of wearing superior raid'ish gear (timeless and baleful gear). In my eyes WoD is an experiment. I have seen some good things and some bad things in the xpac. But Blizzard needs to think outside the box as the main concept has become more mainstream and slick than ever before. -- Peter T.

I have seen some good things and some >bad things in the xpac. But Blizzard needs to think outside the box as >the main concept has become more mainstream and slick than ever before. It does indeed feel experimental, I'm not convinced it's worked. I agree there are indeed some good things (I actually really like quest rewards auto upgrading, ability to reroll stats on crafted gear, treasure all over the place, and the questing experience from 90-100, for a start), but the overall experience is a big disappointment for my playstyle, at least. Perhaps it works better for the more raid/focussed types, but I'm a mainly solo player, who likes story, questlines, and generally not feeling like my content is an afterthought shoved in at the last minute with no actual effort given to making it entertaining... It'll be interesting to see where it goes next, if they're actually making expansions shorter (rather than just emptier for the same amount of time), perhaps it may work, but this one's been far too empty, the next one needs more content. I really can't see it coming that soon though, there's not even been hints of leaks yet, if it was to launch around Blizzcon time it should be entering alpha by now (probably beta), yet not even a hint - they won't announce it till Blizzcon I reckon, so at best we might get it summer 2016 instead of winter... so, a year of Tanaan jungle then. Hope I'm wrong. Also hope they look at the pricing; I paid more for WoD (not sure if every country got the increased prices?) than any previous expansion, us in the UK also got a sub price increase on top of that, yet we got far less content - paying more, more often, and getting less, isn't going to make customers happy - I've already decided to only upgrade one of my two accounts to the next expansion, will only follow with the 2nd account if it seems worth the money this time; if it's another WoD I'll just transfer my shaman to my main account and close the 2nd one/maintain it via gold if token prices come down a bit. Not worth spending RL money on 2 accounts as things stand, and this is coming from someone who's had 2 accounts continuously subbed for 8 years (10+ years on my main account) and previously bought everything without question through *knowing* I'd like it just because it was Blizzard... that trust is now gone :-(

It need not matter anyway. I am not playing but have gold-bought tokens sufficient to play well into next year. Somebody paid $ for them. =IF= the core are happy to pay more $ NOT to play grinding then the sub numbers don't matter as much to the all important bottom line. As F2P knows people will often pay a lot more $ if they feel it is their choice to spend and get something NOW. We token buyers are just F2P background noise AI mobs for the paying clients :-)

I think that is what it comes down to in the end. There have always been two types of players. On the one hand those who really like the immersion, enjoy the lore and see it as a story of which they are part. On the other hand there are the people who don't care much about the lore/immersion part but just enjoy the challenges of the multi player game and the various things you can do in the world regardless of how it inegrates into the story line. It seems that Blizzard is taking the stance of "we spent so much time creating all this content, we want our players to experience it fully" and feel that players would miss out on a lot if the had flying from the start. To the first group of players (Catriona and I certainly belong to that) this decision makes sense and fulfilling the requirements for flying are probably something we would have completed as part of our normal play anyway. To the second group (Lewis belongs to it), this decision must appear as Lewis describes it: An unfriendly attempt to force them into playing the game in a way they don't enjoy. While to me, this isn't the case, I can fully understand how annoying this must be. Ever since flying had been introduced, there had been complaints about it being gated and those complaints became even louder with WotLK where something we had grown used to was taken away. Personally, I thought the requirement to get to max level and paying a hefty fee (like in BC and WotLK) was ok. I also think it is enough to "force" the first character to walk to max level and let alts fly from the start would be the sensible compromise. This would allow the second group to reach max level any way they like (e.g. by running dungeons exclusively) and then get access to flying. And the first group - levelling by questing - would get it the same way, by playing the game the way they play it. Forcing people to play the game in "group 1" mode is certainly unfriendly to group 2. As to the dropping subscriptions, I think it might also be the case that the novelty of WoW has just run its course. I played the game for over five years and still enjoyed it (mostly by satisfying my completionist streak) but in the end, it was just "more of the same" and I imagine at one point this gets boring for everyone. Adding a new expansion to a game that should integrate with it enough to be the same game but be new enough to attract people for a prolonged time is no mean feat and I am impressed that Blizzard has pulled it off so many times, I guess failing with WoD is just something that had to happen... If we'd had more Isle of Thunder/Molten Front/Pandaria 5.1 storylines type content, my interest would've held up a lot better than it has done. Now the "more of the same" argument would I imagine be more applicable to pvp and raiding, as I don't think there's much new in either of them, but not a lot got removed either (unless LFR was your raiding of choice, as it was mine...), but my playstyle would've very much liked more of the same! ;-)

Yeah, you and I have almost zero in common in how we play the game so who knows who they were trying to aim it at, if it's failed this badly for us both :-) >> If we'd had more Isle of >> Thunder/Molten Front/Pandaria 5.1 storylines type content, my interest >> would've held up a lot better than it has done. > >TBC was clearly the best expansion, and WoD is clearly the worst since >they gutted the game. Hehe now that's where we differ; MoP was by far the best for my playstyle. That's not to say I don't have the most nostalgia for TBC; I do, but it didn't have close to as much compelling content for my preferred playstyle - at that time I did group more and so loved it, but going back to it now, as a far more solo-orientated person than I was then, I'd be rather bored. It'd still beat WoD though... >> but not a lot got removed either (unless LFR was your raiding of >> choice, as it was mine...), but my playstyle would've very much liked >> more of the same! ;-) > >The removal of LFR was certainly a huge detriment to me. Blizzard keeps >making abig deal out of things and then crippling them or removing them. Yep. I could understand (though disagree with) some nerfing to LFR, in at least giving less powerful sets to stop the raiders moaning that they "had" to do it to get their set bonuses. No excuse for making it so easy you can ignore all mechanics though, nor for making the gear look worse than quest greens - I'd have thought that having *nice* yet different looks would be a positive, as transmog fans might run LFR for fun then! As it stands, I've not killed Blackhand yet, nor found any enthusiasm for Hellfire Citadel, I suppose I should do it but it feels so pointless; the 4 difficulties means the gear's really crap too, I've got equal or better in half my slots already... >LFR: gone >Being able to improve toon through PVP and Raid: gone >Any level of difficulty: gone >Guild perks and leveling: gone >Garrisons: not gone yet, but already announced as a dead end >Leveling toons: pretty much dead and gone Yep. Also scenarios: gone, professions: gutted, ongoing storyline at endgame: nonexistent... >As for difficulty, Blizzard seems to be very confused and considers that >making something tedious and repetitive is "difficult" whereas I >consider "difficult" to be something that requires mental effort. Yeah, I look for my own challenges now; duoing lvl 100 dungeons is kinda fun ;-) Ironman levelling is fun as well, just a shame there's not so much challenge in the main game! >For example, collecting dinosaur bones on the island north of Panderia >is by no means difficult. it is a mindless bot-able task that you have >to grind tghrough, mindlessly, for 10,000 bones if you want the mount. > >There is no challenge involved in doing the same thing over and over >again, but Blizzard thinks that repition is the same as challenging. Well in fairness, that's not new, thing is we had for a while moved away from endless grinding for reputation and the like. I know not all (including you, I think :-)) were fans of dailies for reputation, but I for one liked them infinitely better than grinding mobs at 5 rep per kill, which is what we got for the 6.0 factions... felt like we'd gone back in time 10 years, and not in a good way.

Even if I don't bother farming saberon I'll be revered and ready for flying in 2 weeks then, and I do kill the odd one as I pass by anyway...
