Ouch! byebye gold. 20-25% drop chance for a crate from a lvl 100
mission? Lets see what the boats can bring. :)

Some news you cant read about in the patch notes. this is what I have
found so far (I need a nap after this):

- You can now buy 650 gear for apexis crystals in Tanaan. 5000g apexis
a piece.
- 645 gear for your followers can now be bought. 500g a piece. There
is a new trader at your mission table.
- When you pick up your work orders you get dismounted. I hope this
will be fixed.
- The crafted upgrades is now 1 item. so your crafting list is revised.
No more need to get the 6.1 item upgrades by visiting a trader. 15
item levels per upgrade up to 685 for armor and 670 for weapons.
- Crafted items now have 6 steps up to 715. (I think this is mentioned
in the patch notes).
- MOAR MAOUNTS for cash and apexis! One mount for 150.000 apexis.
Happy farming. I should hit the 200 mounts ach very soon and with a
little luck also the 225 mounts achs as well within the next 3 months as
I have Uld, ICC, EoE and Utgarde Keep on farm atm + the mounts from JC
and other profs I still havent made. :)
- There are many new items to buy from the traders in the Garrison and
in the first city in Talaan. The list is long, but some of the items
looks very promising as we will benefit from those in Tanaan. Some of
the items can be compared to the items sold by the smuggler in Arak.
check them out. you wont be disappointed.

What have you stumbled upon?

My thoughts about the garrison.

I think the garrison is more or less obselete now. There are still gold
missions and I have 3 followers on a 200g mission. So rumors about 40g
and 70g missions only arent true. Also we can send followers on oil
missions (I think its 615 missions). Oil is used for the wharf.

But due to the crate nerf there is no need to stare at the mission table
anymore. Really. My humble guess is missions with a specific gear
level like 630, 645 etc drops a guaranteed crate while ordinary lvl 100
missions only has the same chance to drop a grate like all the other
missions below 100.

Anyhoo. 2 weeks ago I skipped the lumber mill on all chars and replaced
it with the tradepost. But as the garrison seems to become obselete I
now also consider skipping the Tradepost on my alts as I only farm rep
on my main. There is the daily resource income just outside the main
building + the resource missions. I think this should keep my resources
near the 10k limit as I will do less missions than before. I take the
decision in 2 weeks.

Btw. The Master Plan addon isnt updated to 6.2. But the author is
aware of it. Meanwhile we have to assign the followers manually which
feels kinda odd. :)

And oh! If you cant log in due to an Error 112 you can try restarting
the battlenet loader. That did it for me. Its a common bug after the
patch and Blizzard are looking at it. there seems to be other
solutions. Some works for some while they dont work for others. Check
the forums.

So, I am not 'losing' 10+k easy gold a day by not playing, cool , fine,
just peachy , means the AH that I quite like is correspondingly more
worth while (must think silver lining silver lining happy place waves on
a beach ).

I was thinking of playing 6.2 for a while, packed the farfarbetter half
off to Europe for a couple of months. Have enough tokens to play well
into next year
[ who is actually paying all these $ for so many anyway? ]
just me and the cat and wow a click away on a stormy cold winters
night..tempting..

But apart from grinding flying I don't see much of interest.
Even flying won't actually have much use beyond a bit of tourism and
quest filling, and you have to have been a tourist and filled quests to
get it.

Of course if I do click on wow..this button right here...see..
just...one...small...click... I will be immersed for a while and
*enjoy* the grinding until immersion breaks in about 3 days. The
aversion is it seems a lot of fiddly loose ends to tie up.

http://www.wowhead.com/flying

shows no character particularly far along on anything, so its warlocks
all the way down.

http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=9564/securing-draenor
no way near but at least it looks like no instances, just the mission zones.

What puts me of is, this is blizzard, doing all those loose ends for a
few days solid or whatever it takes. Then finding some instance
roadblock buried deep down amongst them without an alternative.
Kill 500 grue, get 1,000 zorkmids in 3 hours OR spend 15 minutes in that
dungeon with other people, grue stew anyone?

Ouch, I'd expected it to still be about 50% or so, that's pretty
harsh. Hope it just means the shipyard brings in decent stuff instead,
but I've not got that far yet...

>- When you pick up your work orders you get dismounted. I hope this

Think that one's a bug, it's mentioned way down towards the bottom of
http://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/372511-updates-from-warcraftdevs-patch-62-ptr/
as "Thanks for the report. We're investigating this further."

>- The crafted upgrades is now 1 item. so your crafting list is revised.

Yep, lesser materials for the earlier upgrades, but then you gotta get
Felblight and stuff for your new upgrades. I believe crafting daily cd
gives larger amounts of materials now too.

>- MOAR MAOUNTS for cash and apexis! One mount for 150.000 apexis.
>Happy farming.

I discovered how good the spirit lodge is for apexis very recently;
had forgotten allabout it till my bf was levelling an alt and
complaining about lvl 100s farming his quest mobs all the time,
suddenly I realised it was ogres every time, and then i remembered the
addition of work orders to the spirit lodge. Tried it and yeah, 200+
most times, well worth the ogre farming :-) 150k will still take ages
though, hopefully there's ways to get then in Tanaan too.

Unfortunately there isn't a 225 mounts one, the next is 250 ;-) I'm on
214 at present, got lucky the other day, my bf was questing in Nagrand
when he says "what's that rare that's not on my Draenor Treasures
addon?", I look over, lvl 100 elekk with 2 million+ health... suddenly
I twig it's a mount dropping rare; I've never seen any of those! Cue
panicked login and Aviana's Feather over to Nagrand then riding as
fast as I can praying that no uber geared person comes along and nukes
it before I get there lol, luckily nobody did and I got a new elekk
mount :-)

>What have you stumbled upon?

Nothing so far, patch is downloading, then I'm expecting it to the
crowded as heck anyway hehe, so I'm off to do my bonfires today, when
there's unlikely to be many allies around waiting to gank me when I
get flagged from stamping out their fires ;-) Probably will give
Tanaan a go later though,I just don't want to burn through all the
content and go back to boredom too fast!

Oh well, probably not such a bad thing in some ways, I only did the
missions once a day anyway but I know some people seemed to find it
necessary to do them constantly; that was one of the prime excuses I
read in the bot ban threads - "oh but you have to bot the garrison, it
takes for ever to run all your missions and do the herb garden/mine on
20 characters several times a day"... jeez. The logical answer to that
of course is "then DON'T", but seemingly some people are too dumb to
realise it's not compulsory...

I only use the trading post to get rid of resources, not to earn then,
it's great to convert easy resources into gold by buying draenic dust
or black rock ore and selling on for profit :-) All you need is 5-6
scavengers and you never need resources anyway once you get a garrison
up and running with everything built.

Hah I always did it manually, way more fun than letting a program do
it for you, so I'm fine :-P

Hehe yeah, would be nice if they were closer together, harder to get
them by this stage. I've got 2 argent tournament ones left and some
high gold/apexis ones, rest which aren't rated pvp and the like are
all low chance raid drops/meta achievements that inevitably contain
one part that's impossible in a group of 1-3 people...

Baleful items also drops from mobs in Tanaan. I was running low on dust
so thats good. but also. I just killed a 800k hp rare. Baleful
spaulders dropped, but instead of the blue 650 shoulders I got some epic
675 shoulders. :)

Lodi Dodi we loves the Skadi on all 8 chars. I just realized I'd been

The good news is that Pinnacle only takes 2½-3 minutes to do while the
keep instance took me 5 minutes and was boring as hell due to the
endless running. :)

Lol, oops! And yeah, UP is nice and fast, especially as a stealth
class, I parked my (otherwise little-used) rogue outside the entrance
for a few months till the drake finally dropped :-)

Reminds me I used to have a couple of characters otuside ZG doing
those mounts, ran out of steam a bit when I eventually got the raptor
(over 100 kills in...) but I still miss the panther... best move those
alts back over there :-)

Lots of goodies are found in the chests here and there. But I have 2
favorites which I use when theyre off CD.

Bottomless Sytgana Mushroom Brew - with a fun side effect. =)

<http://www.wowhead.com/item=128223/bottomless-sytgana-mushroom-brew>

Skull of the Mad Chief - VERY useful until we get the flying skill! And
very fun too. :)

Hehe I love that one, yep! Also if you found the strange fruit one I
believe that'll turn into a podling costume after the 14 days is up
:-)

I need to actually try that, looted it earlier then forgot about it
lol, it sounds pretty cool though.

Got honoured with Vol'jin's headhunters earlier and got the teleport
to rare spawn item, awesome, but not too useful on a super-high
population realm like Draenor, most times I use it there's no live
rares in range :-( However it'll be handy for those times where
NPCScan goes off and I have no idea how to actually reach the rare!

Dunno if Blizzard has buffed the drop rate of the drakes i EoE. The
blue drake dropped last week after like 10-15 attempts. This morning it
dropped again. 2 chars later the azure drake also dropped.
According to wowhead the drop rate should be around 4% for both drakes.

Wow, that's lucky! Although I got the blue drake about 2 runs before
the azure drake myself... I just already knew it from when I dropped
in Oculus bonus bags. I thought it was a lower droprate than that
though, more like 1%, maybe it was higher than I realised!

The VoA mount also dropped a few minutes ago. Collector said 87th
attempt. But my WoW install + variables and files are from cata so its
probably a lot more attempts. :)
Finally no more flying to VoA and EoE. Those flights were true killers.
My chars' HS are set to the innkeeper just south of Utgarde Keep as I
farm Utgarde Pinnacle on daily basis. The flight from that point to VoA
took 6 mins. And from VoA to EoE was the same.

Congrats! I need to get back to trying VoA, it's an annoying one as
you can't always tell from Dalaran if it's actually ours, thanks to
crossrealm zoning, been a few times I've travelled there only to find
we didn't have it after all *sigh*.

Dalaran teleport ring is wonderful for Northrend mount farming, only
30 mins cd so I just use that for getting around (also I'm hearthed in
Pandaria shrine, so can use that portal as well if ring is on cd!)

Got my first Tanaan mount yesterday, I seriously love the group finder
for things like that, beats waiting hours for the spawns :-)

Hehe. :) If you dont have the wintergrasp buff, but WG is belonging to
your faction the fight is ongoing. Nobody does WG atm as theyre busy
with Tanaan. so its pretty easy to hold it or conquer it.

Heh! I've forgot all about that ring! Better have to get it asap!

Grats. :) I got my first medallion from one of 4 super rares in Tanaan.
1K rep to all WoD factions. Hozen Pipe v2. :)

The problem is more having the buff, getting there and finding it's
alliance owned - not all of Northrend is the same with regards to
crossrealm zoning, apparently :-(

I got that way back in Wrath when I was actually using it - always
been glad I kept it in my bags since then, it's so handy for travl,
especially now can farm mounts in all the raids there.

1k rep... or 18-20k gold on the AH as rich people don't want to do
dailies; I'm taking the gold lol :-D Got my 2nd mount a few mins ago,
on a roll here, wonder if number 3 will drop tomorrow!

Just posted the medallion. Less than 10 secs later it was sold. 17k
inc. :)

Wow, that was fast! Nice gold if you get lucky with drops there - I'd
use them myself if they were cheaper, but at that price... I'll take
the gold instead :-)

Wouldn't it be closer to fly to WG from the Argent Tournament grounds? There
is a tabard you can get that lets you teleport there. That was my preferred
way of getting to Northrend while having my HS set on some other continent.

On the other hand, it's been a long time since I set foot in Northrend, so I
might be misremembereing ;-)

True. Its definitely a shorter flight path than Utgarde->WG. But
Catriona mentions the ring which ports you to Dal and that is even
better. :)

Btw. It still annoys me there is no FP right outside the entrance to ICC.

I'd actually forgotten the tabard, that's also handy, given I'm still
working on Argent Tournament mounts (only one to go... almost there),
but then it's only a 1 min flight from Dalaran anyway :-)

>Btw. It still annoys me there is no FP right outside the entrance to ICC.

Me too! No matter where you go from it's a long flight, I far prefer
jumping on a taxi and tabbing out to read forums or something on the
way.

For the Wintergrasp buff maybe the comments about checking in Dalaran
may work?
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/11836803762
Way back there used to be a portal to WG in the faction base in Dal, for
the battle and I think if your faction owned it???.

Just mentioning in case it is still there, I have no idea.

Also true. However, I was always too cheap to buy that ring, considering the
tabard was much cheaper and that the flight from the tournament to dalaran
was actually pretty short.

Heh yeah. 8500 gold. No way. I already have an extra HS in the
garrison stone so I save the money for a mount or 20 in WoD. :)

It is there, yes, but I've heard stories of people using it getting
dropped into a base owned by the other faction and promptly ganked by
NPCs... I prefer to fly over and see for myself instead lol ;-)

Hehe understandable, have to say I thought it was nearer 5k but it was
a long long time ago I got it. It was an upgrade for me at the time so
I primarily got it for the stats, the teleport feature only became
really useful later on after Wrath was over!

Yeah, pricy but they're nice looking mounts, I still use the red one
on a couple of alts and I used the black one on my main for most of
MoP, really nice one :-)

Yeah, people aren't getting the orbs from Blingtron any more, old one
used to drop them, new one I suspect doesn't (well, I've not seen
them), and it's more of a grind to make them now. Plus I think the
dupe exploit that was rumoured has gone; prices used to be lower than
it cost to make them, which really didn't add up unless there was some
kind of exploit happening...

I love the look of the JC mounts. Simple, neat and the colors too. :)
Many of the other mounts including those I've farmed looks very similar
to each other imho. But I'm also a bit gayish when it comes to colors.
Seriuosly. I really hunt the pang or clean colors when it comes to
xmogs. but its nearly impossible to find white clothes for my mage
while my shammy looks great in red (Magnificent and Bloodlust set from
vanilla). :)

That means Blizzard has fixed the duping? ^^ Anyway. the core material
is 20K at the vendor. the other mats can be farmed quite easily. So it
9-10K in profit. Consider consider...

Hehe nice and colourful that one :-) I wish I liked newer gear, all my
transmogs are vanilla/BC and they look a bit low-res, but, newer gear
just doesn't fit my taste, other than a few raid drops that I can't
get anyway (not happy with how crap LFR gear looks now... seriously,
what was the point in making it look so bad I instantly transmog it to
hide it?)

Well, they *might* have fixed it, I don't know, just seems a likely
reason for prices to have increased on those... who knows though!
it's not a bad profit, yeah, although living steel is a pain to get if
you don't have an alchemist, I wonder if those actually sell, if they
do I may try my luck with one.

Got to work out better than my epic gem I cut several days ago that
still hasn't sold, now less than the value of the felblights at the
time I cut it, *sigh*. Can't say I'm that surprised that even the
hardcore raiders don't want to pay 10k gold for a single gem but
still...

I think I saw those prices on my old realm. Havent checked the prices
on Draenor. :)

I think they will sell. With WoD we have got access to so many
easy-to-get mounts so many peeps (like me) will fill some holes so they
get their 200 mounts or even 250 mounts ach. Its just a guess though.

Just had a look, 29-31k, wow. If they actually *sell* for that then
hmm, could be nice! I might make one to experiment, bit of a gamble
but may pay off.

Though I hope it doesn't take the 6 months+ it took to sell my Hide of
the Wild recipe that finally went last week, been trying to offload
that forever but given it's not been available for 4+ years, didn't
really want to sell it cheap!

True, yeah, I've been collecting for ages but still have my eye out
for a few, and there's an awful lot of people who are newly rich that
weren't before (my bf has *never* been able to make money, I usually
gave him everything, even he's now got 200k on a single character...)

Got all my Tanaan mounts now, not bad using just one character, still
doing the bosses for medallions to sell (while they're still 14k or
so, when it goes down a but further I'll start using them instead),
but only 3 of them now, Vengeance is just too annoying; there's no
obviously safe place to stand while you spam the grounp finder, and
getting ganked by multiple mobs including an elite or two is a bit
annoying when your dps isn't amazing :-(

Stealthman 54 from engineering? Youre invisible for as long as you
stand still. :)

Finally Pathfinder.

Flying skill should be accessible in PTR in 1-3 weeks. So 1-1½ month
from now?

Hmm good idea, though unless it works on my bodyguard too, it's not so
useful hehe, I'm rather weak without the added dps if my bodyguard
dies (really hope they either keep that mechanic or buff healer dps
next expansion...). I'm just taking the "don't bother" option with
Vengeance now and killing the other 3 who I can wait safely for ;-)

Congrats! I'll have 2/3 factions done when I do today's dailies, then
just need to grind the saberstalkers out; could group it but I think
you get far lower claws droprate and I want those for buying rewards,
hmm. I really can't solo more than single pulls though so I guess I'll
have to find a group sometime soon... should go fairly quickly I
hope!

Heh nice one, my lock isn't 100 yet so that's out hehe, disc priest it
is for me, not bad but slooowww on big stuff :-) Worth remembering
that when I do lvl my warlock though, should be handy for big stuff!

There's a fair few people overestimate their ability vs the named
elites in that place lol, whenever I have the weekly quest I just hang
around and wait for someone to summon them, mostly I then save them by
healing them as they're getting owned lol ;-) I'm impressed if warlock
can solo those, even death knights seem to have trouble!

You've got all 3 mounts, no? How many attempts? ^^ Me. 1 mount from
like 50 kills.

Got them all now, yep, can't recall how many attempts but they all
dropped within a few days, whatever day I said I got my 2nd, the 3rd
came 1-2 days later :-) Purely down to luck though; I've barely seen
any medallions since then, so I guess I used my luck up there!

3 chars/12 kills every day. 1 medallion and 1200 oil a day. :) Each
kill usually gives 2-3 players a cage. So thats approx 5-8%.

Guess I was lucky then, only using 1 character (got 2 100s but it's
enough of a chore doing everything one 1...), all 3 mounts dropped,
medallions are a lot more patchy, one every 3-4 days I guess, though
sometimes I get 2 in a day.

At least Kazzak likes me better than Rukhmar did; got a neck this week
on only the 3rd attempt. I still have only ever had 1 drop off Rukhmar
on my main, out of what Rarity says is now 20 kills, using bonus roll
every time (even after I didn't need anything; I wanted to see if my
luck would ever change!). Given Kazzak's drops are better for me than
Rukhmar's ever were, here's hoping I'll be luckier with him :-)

Finally. Another mount just dropped. One of my addons (Rarity?) told
me it was my 73rd attempt. :) One to go...

Two more mounts dropped. Too bad I already have them. 86 attempts so
