"In any case we are continuing toward a goal of a PvP on/off toggle for players on PvE realms to be added in Warlords of Draenor, which would absolutely and in all situations allow someone to refrain from becoming flagged regardless of their actions. Heals toward flagged players would fail, coalescing to PvP realms wouldn't be possible, misclicks and AoE's would never damage a flagged opponent, etc. It's actually quite a bit of work because of all the systems involved, but it's still something we think PvE players should have, and how the game should work for them. " http://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/291840-stoprammingpvpdownmythroat/ Ok, I am celebrating right now, I have wanted that kind of thing for so long - as someone who doesn't like to mix my pve and pvp, the ability to never accidentally be flagged is perfect! Can't wait :-)

Can't wait :-) We used to have a situation where BGs gave no XP, and some players would hold their toons at (for example) 69, allowing them to gear up and whup ass on players who were just passing through to higher levels. There was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth these twinks when Blizz changed things so that BGs *did* give XP. They were offered the consolation prize of being able to turn off XP, but those who did so would play BGs only against other players who had also done so; the bullying was at an end, and they were not happy. This is the other shoe dropping. pt

Yep. I think this will be a mainly very popular change, the griefers will HATE it, but the rest of us will be either indifferent (pvp server people, doesn't affect them) or absolutely delighted, as I am lol. Even on my priest I feel very uncomfortable when pvp-flagged idiots jump around on top of me for ages, and as a priest, everything I do won't automatically jump to the nearest target if my current target dies, so I'm fairly safe (instead, I get to suffer being flagged up in worldboss fights when I heal people... nowadays I don't directly heal, and only use Atonement, sigh)... for melee, Timeless isle is just hell, as there's so many pvp'ed people around, doing everything they can to get you to flag up, argh. Very glad Blizz have seen the problem and will fix it; should've been done a long time ago, as I recall as far back as isle of Quel'Danas; heck, as far back as the opening of the Dark Portal, there were problems with pvp griefing in high pop areas; left-click and keybind to interact helped a lot, but this should solve it completely. Curious how far it'll go; surely I can't walk into the middle of Stormwind and remain unflagged? I'd assume no on that, but trigger-happy guards at small towns will be an interesting question, I hate getting flagged when some guard sees me half the map away, would hope that just dying to the overpowered guard should be enough punishment lol.

How far? well, they don't really want to do it so not to far and it will be well broken. from the original > > It's actually quite a bit of work because of all the systems involved, but > it's still something we think PvE players should have, and how the > game should work for them. " Soooooo many systems built, soooo many ways to flag for sooo long. At what point did this revelation occur, how long ago did they undergo an epiphany? What prompted them to decide it was not quite entirely a wonderful thing? from the link " so I'm not sure it's us making you PvP" "we are continuing toward a goal" Denial, misdirection. Give some a little hope and they will skip down the garden path all by themself. The are talking about it as a bug and blizzard never fixes bugs unless they prevent designed gameplay. You can report a bug or error forever but unless it directly affects the designed completion path it does not get fixed. I know why they do it, every change may create more bugs, only demonstrated roadblocks get any priority. There are still spelling errors and bugs in vanilla content, unfixed during the revamp. Pvp is deep in gameplay, from the evolution it seem likely it was in the first couple of bulletpoints on the initial presentation. I know it sounds like grumpy naysaying. I also allow a little hope they do it, just don't get your hopes up too much. Hope leads to anticipation, anticipation leads to expectation, unrealised expectation leads to despair. I expect nothing and live in a fairy land with the unicorns and sparkleponies prancing in the forest of serendipity trees. If you do not fall prey to a hope infestation everything is a pleasant surprise :-)

What have they got to argue except 'it stops me ganking' ? They don't often say that but usually 'carebear' is a good indicator the rest can be ignored. For people who want to play a game it seems the no-pvp cross realm is the only issue and thats about restricting choice for queues. There is quite a bit of assumption of what it will be given very little information. I don't know why they do the various tricks, it proves nothing. Someone with 100 ilvl extra has 2.5 time more stats, corresponding power, mitigation and health then add pvp reduction. They could stand still and autoattack and only lose 10%. It seem to be something to do with what they imagine is going on in the gankees mind rather than in the game. Sadists don't spend their time mutilating rocks. Well, maybe they do but we call them sculptors not 'knd'h'd :-)

If you were at max level, you'd find a white (not gray) weapon of the right class, go somewhere with an endlessly spawning supply of a low-level NPC, turn on auto-attack, and then go have lunch. By the time you got back, you'd be skilled up. pt
