Hey Master Level Doom PWAD authors:

Do you have a new PWAD you were about to release? Since id software
has taken it upon themselves to release TNT: Evilution as a commercial
add on for Doom 2, that leaves the door open for the rest of us to put
together our own freeware 32 level PWAD collection.

All we need is a cool WWW page (That I would be happy to provide), a
background story (any suggestions? I have some idea's), and 32 new
levels that include a few new graphics and some nifty tricks!!!

We can have the whole thing thrown together by the end of November if we
move like greased lightning or put it off till the 2nd week in December if
you won't have your PWAD finished right away.

Don't wait another minute: Lets get started. Please uucode and E-Mail me
your .WAD file (even if it's not totally finished yet) so I can start judging
them for difficulty and putting them in order. I was already working on a
nine level Doom 2 episode of my own so, I we have a head start!

Please send Comments and Suggestions to me right away, I want to start putting
our WWW page together this weekend. And remember: We need a cool name!

Not yet, but I can still whip up some pretty good wads given time.

Nifty tricks? That's me! My wads are usually chock full of "illegal"
special effects.

	December, prefferably. School, after all.

I can whip some up in a few weeks if I really put my mind to it.

I don't think that's possible. I do think it's possible to do something
good before TNT is released - after all, TNT just got delayed until
January. Anyway, I'd like to give it a try: my minimal involvement with
TNT was when I though we were doing something free for everyone, and I'd
be depressed if it seems we can only make good 32 level PWADs for money.

Remember, Quake may be Christmas but it'll be a while before anyone is
editing anything except Doom...

Besides, knowing how id's release dates tend to slide, you may actually
have until February or March.

Best of luck, gentlemen. Go for it!!!!

Speaking of sliding release dates... Quake by Christmas? I don't
believe it. Maybe Easter. And it'll probably be 1997 before we see
many high-quality Quake add-on levels. Good old DOOM still has quite a
bit of life left in it.

bwaaaha ha haha ha ha ha <snort>!!!

I *like* that name. :-)

SATWTTCTTAD32LCI3W.wad

uhh... It's a little long tho...
How about
SADTWAT.wad
for short? Even if it's crap, with a name like that, it's bound to get
around...

Seriously though, I've been involved in *3* of these "lets make a cool
level comp" things. I've *yet* to receive a response after the initial
pants-wetting furor of the (well intentioned) "organizer".

Instead of making a "collection" of levels, it might be easier (and
more fun) and faster to split a level between 4/5 people. 1 person
does sounds, 1 textures, 1 .exe hacking, 1or2 designing levels.
Decide on a "theme", compile/complete the necessary steps, then assign
the "merging" to one of the project members when it's done. I'm sure
there's enogh people out there that have preferences (specialize if
you will) on *specific* things. A single level Pwad (even a large one)
can be uue'd back and forth quite easily (at first anyway). With
enough discussion, some cool ideas could be born.
Just a thought, but maybe worth discussing. I myself am in no way
qualified to "specialize" in *anything*, but I know some of you
regulars out there that would appreciate this kind of challenge.
Gotcha thinkin' eh... :-)
