This would make mass Ah yes, but in a GOOD Quake level (I'm sounding like it's already out, I know)... you'll be able to run away from the battle and go shit-kick some monsters for EXP. Exp would make for a rad game, if you can come back to your character later, ie. using a password.

: Ah yes, but in a GOOD Quake level (I'm sounding like it's already out, I : know)... you'll be able to run away from the battle and go shit-kick some : monsters for EXP. Exp would make for a rad game, if you can come back to : your character later, ie. using a password. : Again, the problem I pointed out earlier would rear its ugly head : The people who have the time and interest would spend a great deal of time on a Quake server...if they were given some advantage by accumulating mass amounts of experience points, then they would tend to reign "god-like" over all the people who just want to run around and go on quests and adventures and such. This reminds me of my first (and only) time on a MUD adventure. From the moment I started, I was the "pawn" of the more powerful characters who spent all their time there. I got blown away quite quickly, and there was no enjoyment. I would argue vehemently against that sort of thing happening to the FUTURE of on-line gaming (read - Quake)!!! Sorry, Craig.
