MK2 here, but impossible.

Well after playing and watching other people play MK2. I've seen few things
if any.

First no one has been able to beat the 2nd computer guy who on the
machine near me is Lui Kang.

Second the computer tosses you around like crazy, even more the MK. (out of
the air, during moves, you name it the computer will toss you during it).
[I hope its set to very very hard because if this is normal no one will
play, already most "players" have become "spectators" because they realize
its impossible to beat the computer.]

Third, I brought the list of moves with me to the game to try them out, most
of them work, some of them don't, and after being there and telling people
how to do the fatalities (and playing myself) no one has been able to do a
fatality. (In other words, I think the moves list needs a few revisions).

Overall though its a cool game. Excellent graphics. Cool sounds. But the
computer is just too tough.

[its been about 6 hours since we got the MK2 machine, and now there's hardly
anyone playing it (compared to when SSF2 game out). People have given up
because of the difficulty]

That's all for now. Oh and BTW if MK2 wasn't supposed to be released until
Tuesday then how come we got it today?

Here, EVERYONE can get past Liu Kang....the turning point is the females
(more commonly called 'the cheap bitches' here).

As one person put it (very well):

"This computer is easy unless you don't know the character you are
using...until Kitana crosses your path. Then you better know what
the hell you are doing. Abandon all hope upon meeting Mileena - 10
seconds, and yer fucked!"
-- quote from player, which met
                                          much agreement from the crowd
                                          (me included!)

Everyone does one-on-one here, and allows the player to play the computer
for one round between matches (it is 2token/2token here, so ya don't have to
continue) and if the player gets screwed, we just press start to bail
him/her out. Invariably, it is always on Kitana or Mileena. :|

It truly does sound like they jacked up the difficulty for ya...

Not here...they have considered trying to connect a second monitor on the
one here so that the huge crowd can watch it on the other screen instead of
all crowding the machine and current players. Definitely bitch like hell at
your operator.

Dunno. Enjoy! :)

Simply amazing. The first few times my brother and I faced the computer we
were able to get up to Mileena with no problems. Then the throwing/flipping
started.

Now my brother can whisk past the female ninjas with ease and get creamed by
Kintaro, affectionately (or not so affectionately) dubbed "Goro's dad." I
still have problems with Mileena (Kitana's easier to beat) but on occassion
do reach Kintaro as well.

First off, a strategy for Kitana and Mileena using Shang Tsung or Baraka
(which probably works with anyone, I guess):

Jump back at the beginning of the round to avoid a quick two punches and then
a flip. If a fan or sai is thrown, just block it and return fire. Either way
you just jump forward and perform a jump kick to knock her down. Jump back
and shoot a projectile or two (Baraka has the fastest recovery after shooting
a blue bolt, Shang Tsung has the multiple skulls). Then jump forward again
and give her another jump kick, and jump back and repeat the cycle. 66% of
the time it should work... 33% of the time she'll block and do something to
ruin your rhythm.
My brother knows how to recover his rhythm quickly; I still have problems.

Well first of all the game is still in its testing versions. Second of all
why make it easy to get to Shang Tsung/Kintaro/Shao Kahn? The challenge
would drum up more business, no matter how frustrating it seems.
Did *you* ever give up on Mortal Kombat when you couldn't get past Liu Kang
or Scorpion or whomever you fought in the fourth battle over the pit???

It's too early in the morning; I've got to sleep longer.
