I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment, so I picked up EGM a little while ago, which has pictures of all four versions of home MK: SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Game Gear and Game Boy... Worst overall: Game Boy Most disappointing: SNES looks like Nintendo can just bite us all, eh? I mean, the Game Gear version would prolly be a better thing to buy than the SNES... Incidentally, the two portable copies each lost a character... I think it was J. Cage in the Game Gear and Kano in the Game Boy, but I might have that backwards... What more can I say, except that Nintendo has proved yet again that they suck big time... Nothing like looking at the photos for the 'sweat' pixels... Yep!

Some of us like the game for the movements and overall graphics, not the
picky little details such as the blood/fatalites.
I'd rather looks at sweat instead of a light-blueish (don't quote me on this,
I just heard this from someone who has seen the sega version),
instead of a light-bluish Raiden. he color pallet of the SNES has over 36,000
colors total, with 256 on the screen at a time. Where the SEGA (I think), can
only have a 256 TOTLAL color pallet, so the 5-10 different shades of white/gray
cannot be matched on the SEGA...
It is all what you are looking for in a game.

Ah, but the blood-to-sweat is not the only change... they changed >3< fatalities to REALLY STUPID LOOKING SHIT... Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero and the oh-so-pretty Raiden are now real wusses... For those who haven't seen Cage's new fatality, he either executes a slide kick, or he just sorta low kicks [only saw one frame, from the EGM] which goes INTO the opponent who just sorta goes in the generic 'arms splayed out in pain', the same pose as for Kano's fatality... I didn't notice any great amounts of blood, and I heard from someone who posted a while ago that the opponent just fell to the ground after being pierced [the photo shows, basically, Cage kicking thorugh Sub-Zero, with his foot missing. That's about it.] We've all heard about Sub-Zero' lowsy fatality, and Raiden's looks the same at first, but instead of the head exploding, the whole body turns to a skeleton, like Scorpion's or Sonya's fatalities... What can I say except 'man, this suxx...' Oh, and all copies now call him 'Rayden'. I won't. Spencer Olson ols...@elof.iit.edu sol...@imsa.edu

GUESS WHAT?!?!?!?
The same fatalities are in the SEGA version also!
But I hear that there IS a code (don't know what it is), that enables the FULL
arcade fatalities.
Without the code, Cage, Kano, Raiden, and Sub-Zero still have the altered
fatalities.

I dunno about that. When I was on a boat from Stockholm to Helsinki last
August, they had a miachine there with the blood and fatalities turned
off. I knew it was the same game, but it just didn't "feel" right. Sigh...

Actually, they aren't 'the same' fatalities... In the normal no-blood mode, the fatalities are slightly changed of most of them, usually only to reduce the blood, tho... However, there is a code, which was also in the EGM, which turns on the full blood&gore mode... They state, however, that this is the code used for the beta version that they played, and that either the code may change or they might put the code in the rule book in the full release... or both, for that matter... We just have to wait and see, I guess... Spencer "code is better than nothing" Olson ols...@elof.iit.edu sol...@imsa.edu

Well, Blood/Fatalities OFF are different then having them ON, just altered.
I will gree with you that haveing them OFF would be different.

I couldn't agree with you more; the Game Boy version does suck. One
ting, though; Johnny Cage got struck from the Game Boy version. :)
