There is a long thread on this in the forums at http://3drealms.com I tried these and they work great: http://www.bur.st/~duke3d/textures.shtml It makes an old game look new again. This combined with all the user maps available brings hundreds of hours of modern quality game play. -Kent

It broke the above hi-res textures and all my old save games are gone. To fix textures for new port version, open extra.con file and do search and replace (twice): "definetexture 0" with "definetexture " note the extra space. This removes the leading zero's. It looks great now but will take a hour to resume my progress with lost save games. I am waiting for someone to update with even more high resolution textures in a complete, finished, tested package -Kent

I just hope they can get the TCP/IP networking to work someday. BTW, I just got 30 MB more high-resolution textures from the 3drealms forum link. -Kent

BTW, there is also a hi-res model project going on in 3drealms.com forum. I just got these cool models to go along with the textures. http://mitglied.lycos.de/noctrun/files/dukenukem.zip The pig cops are funny as hell: http://jonof.edgenetwork.org/index.php?p=jfduke3d -Kent

I just read the following from JonoF in the 3drealms forum: Not very long now there will be an interim release that corrects the most annoying bugs in the port and ensures proper Linux operation. I intend to do it in the next 24 hours. Jonathon It was dated last week, so it may not be long for your Linux port that will be able to make use of hi-res models and textures. So how well to the present Linux Duke3d ports work? -Kent
