Okay, for all those who can't stand the thought of going without saving, here's the solution: There's a program called the Game Wizard. It's a TSR that doesn't take up much memory. While in a game, it lets you shell to DOS, alter game settings, and best of all --- save anywhere, anytime. The demo for it is FTPable at FTP.UWP.EDU in /pub/ms-dos (i think)/romulus/cracks. GWIZ.ZIP or something like that. The demo only lets you shell to DOS and do some basic twiddling with memory. The full version for $40 lets you save. BTW, I'm in no way associated with the makers of Game Wizard. I'm only posting this in the hopes that someone will buy it and let us know if it works well with Descent. Selfish? Yes, but I can just keep playing for a 1/2 hr at time no problem. -rich
