Hello all, I got my brother into the C&C games. He is now in love with it, but often asks me when the ships will be brought back. He is thinking of redalert 2 when he states that. I told him that give it time, they will bring back the ship battle aspect of the game. Am I lying to my brother? Does Zero hour have any ship control to add on to an otherwise cool game. I plan on buying it probably today as it is now 24.99 at the local Best Buy. Also, Is there a good addy someone has for "large" maps for LAN games. I have a site or two with maps, but they dont often get too big or are more for online multiplayer and not against AI opponents. Thanks group, SL

Are there even any "rumors" of adding a naval aspect? I liked that part of the red alert series. It made it a little bit different as far as tactics went. Last I read the designers don't like ships, the fear is that in a two player game, you could destroy your opponents land force, but he destroys your navy. He can't get your land troops, but he won't let you, or you can not afford, to build a new navy, so it ends in a stalemate. That is why TS had no Navy, just amphibious units. > > > "Lee Hardy" <lee15@blueyonder.co.uk> wrote in message > news:XsVmb.61$jD.34@news-binary.blueyonder.co.uk... > > there is a mod over at www.cncden.com (currently having server troubles) > > that enables control over the navy's. surely they could come up with some sort of system. Maybe make a navy dependent on a land force somehow. Maybe a fuel depot that navy's must use that are run by land units. So, you could not have a total navy part alone, but one that can still be lethal. It just made the game more well rounded I thought. RA2's carriers with proper support were awesome against any target in range, which they should be. I believe it is just the personal bias of the designers against haveing a Navy. > > SL > "The Ancient One" <onlytheone@thetopknows.com> wrote in message > news:vpr9mk8c9p8ged@corp.supernews.com... > > > > "SL" <pillott@yahoo.com> wrote in message > > news:hA_mb.132466$qj6.8870010@news1.news.adelphia.net... > > > Are there even any "rumors" of adding a naval aspect?
