Make sure you provide a rocket firing escort for your harvester in order to destroy any air threats. Nobody says in real war, "Maybe we shouldn't allow attacks on our supply lines".

Kill the harvester by all means. This is war we're talking about. While you're discussing ethics, your opponent is happily mowing your foot-soldiers into the landscape... Although it's difficult to get the game going with this tactic, you might try to set the first 15 or 20 minutes of the game amassing money and establishing your base (that means cease-fire) then you can slug it out after that time runs out. Cheers!

In article <30E9AB...@cdrive.co.za>, Justin Moore <jus...@cdrive.co.za> says: > >I'm addicted to multiplayer c&c but I am not sure as to weather harvester killing >should be allowed or not in multiplayer games, please reply with all your comments and >suggestions thanx !! > >gr...@cdrive.co.za Look guys, I started a thread months ago about this very subject, and opinions from many people differ with no clear winner. My opinion is you should play the game for the game, decide beforehand between your opponent whether harvester killing should be allowed or not. My experience is you get a far better game if you leave them alone. It makes the game more interesting and tests your SKILL as opposed to going for an easy kill. This point can be argued with references to historical battles and the whole thing is lost in reality when after all it is a game designed to have fun with. If you are still undecided play both ways and make up your own mind. Gav.

Oh yeah, that's a good point-- I always play with a 15 minute no-attack agreement.

What people are doing is stripping away the strategic intelligence of this game. At first it was: Limited to 4 orcas. -That makes sense to me, and I even play that way. Then it was: No attacking harvesters. -I thought that was ridiculous Most recently: No engineers. -I nearly started eating only prunes (?!) -No, i was seriously appauled. PEOPLE listen up!! Don't just take something away from the game because thats how YOU got beat! We cannot continue to bog down the game with unnecessary rules. If someone keeps beating you by destroying your harvester, think of it as a motivator to figure out a better way to destroy THEIR harvester. Or think up a better way to guard your own harvester. --then post about it here. Here's one way: Build 3-4 recon bikes (GDI: 2 rocket launchers). Select the team, hold down ctrl+alt then click on your harvester. This will force those units to guard your harvester (or any object you click on). The whole team will follow your harvester around and attack anything automatically that comes in range. NOTE: Sometimes the harvester gets mixed up and plays tag with the units, so you'll have to watch it periodically.
