Sorry, I had to re-install my news/mail software a couple of weeks ago
after it started crashing very regularly and I forgot to back up my old
files.

Probably, but maybe this time they're waiting to see what people's
overall opinions are on the subject so they can make a patch which deals
with as many problems with the game as possible. We can but hope.
