I have a game I think its called STUNT DRIVER (havent looked at it for a while) and its pretty much like the first version of the game that Atari had in the arcades. I enjoyed the game alot when I played ( no time recently ). Features I remember: -U can switch between about 10 cars, their color, manual vs auto -U can choose from a number of tracks -U can change the graphics level to increase play speed -U can choose from several (5?) drivers to drive against (or clock) -there is a track editor that u can design U'r own track depending on what U play it on it can be either very hard, challenging, or impossible. IMPOSSIBLE being a 286 or slower! I recommend at least a true 386 with VGA, but it looks like U are watching a movie with 486 (i.e. REAL SMOOTH!!!!) as soon as OSU gets its 486 lab this summer I was planning on breaking it back out to try down there! (also buy a flight sim.) If this is the same game......I would buy it for $15 bucks in a sec! later chuck! .....why can't real life be more like beer commercials?

Both have many of the features you describe but I think you're talking about STUNTS. STUNT DRIVER is a horrible game that doesn't even run "smoothly" on my 386-25. It runs "quickly", but the animation is hardly smooth or realistic. STUNTS looks much better and you have a better "sense" of flying through the air or rolling through a loop than you do with STUNT DRIVER. The track editor for STUNTS has more "pieces" for you to create unique, multi-leveled stunt tracks. While it IS playable on a 286, I would recommend at least a 386 (386SX?) for smooth response. If you're familiar with the TEST DRIVE games, then you'll have no trouble with the controls as STUNTS was created by the same people who did TEST DRIVE II. If you ARE talking about STUNT DRIVER, then my advice is, "DON'T BUY IT AT ANY PRICE!!!" You could find this game in the trash, install it, play it, and still feel ripped-off for the time you spent on it. Oh yeah. One more thing: Racing an opponent in STUNTS really slows things down, so have at least a 386 for that (though racing against the clock is still pretty enjoyable). I have found that, when faced with a track YOU designed, the computer drivers often cannot finish (they crack up somewhere along the way) -Dave Erazmus Champaign, IL

STUNT DRIVER is not nearly as awful as you make it out to be. I've played it on a 386sx/20 in 16-color VGA mode and it is very quick and about as smooth as you could expect it to be, bouncing along in a car at 120mph. 256-color mode is a bit slower and there isn't much difference in graphics quality. If anything, my complaint is that the driving aspect of the game isn't very fun. What's entertaining is to just race around and set up all kinds of spectacular crashes and then watch them using the nicely designed VCR mode. It only costs $16.99 at the local Babbage's and I'd say it is a good deal at that price, if you are looking for this sort of game. I'd give it a 6 on a 1 to 10 scale, which isn't the greatest but definitely not "horrible." STUNTS is made by Broderbund, not Borland, BTW. -- James Hague exu...@exu.ericsson.se
