I've gotten all the way through Castle Wolfenstein ( floors 1 - 9 ), but I can't seem to get out of the 10th floor. Could anyone help me? BTW, Castle Wolfenstein is free ( part one, that is ). It can be found at ftp.ulowell.edu under the "msdos/Apogee" directory - or something like that - you can find it! The graphics are incredible. For those with sound boards, I hear the sound is awesome, too. The game requires VGA and at least a 286. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ross Perot: "Now, we can amend this dang Constitution if we have to." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Brady - br...@castor.cs.uga.edu Had enough? Could anyone help me? There's a secret door behind one of the swastika symbols on the left hand side of the hallway. It has a bunch of first aid kits, ammo, and a *huge* machine gun to kill that giant guy. Hope I didn't ruin the game for anyone... Greg Ennis (93G...@VAX.CC.WILLIAMS.EDU)

You gave a very good description of level _9_, but dunno how that would help much. For that matter, dunno, how THIS will help much, but all I can say is to go around and kill everyone, then go back to the beginning and search EVERYWHERE for secret passages. There's thousands of them there, and both the key and the exit are within secrets (or at least the key is...) Sound hard? It is. Took me about 1 hour to get through level 10 the first time. Talk about ecrets within secrets within secrets....sheeeesh! Anyway, that's about the only advice I can give you. I did it once but I'd never remember how to do it again. Good luck! I'm sorry, I feel dense, but... What the heck is Level 10? I got to Level 9, killed the guy, and I got out and the game ended. Did I miss something? - Mike Lewis tr...@leland.stanford.edu

If you dont want to know the age-old clue for getting through a maze,
hit n now!
Ok, so you want to know the secret. Always go right. Act as if you
always have your hand on the right wall, only search the walls
on your right, and only use the first door directly to the right
of you. Sooner or later you will have search every square block
of Castle Wolfenstein, the Dungeon's of Moria or whatever maze you
are in. (Unless, of course, you wind up in an inclosed loop. But
I didn;t find one that big in level 10.)
Secret door clue. If you tap a wall faceing it directly, you will
find the door. At an angle and moving, a lesser chance. Huge angle
and flying past it, you probably wont notice it. Done nicely and
realistically!
Enjoy!
Frnk! :> (I may play "Death Incarnate", but I kept the neat
bib!)

How do you know where to look for secret rooms? I've only found 2 in the 5 levels I've done. :-( Please email advice... -- "The question of whether a computer can think is no more interesting than the question of whether a submarine can swim" - Edsger W. I found the serect room, but the machine gun looked the same as the "normal" machine gun you get on other floors. I was able to get the big guy with the normal machine gun. After opening the door, you have to step back 4-5 steps, and then spray him with bullets. You have to pump about 20-40 slugs into him before he dies. If you stay by the door, he'll get you every time. Has anyone purchased the "real" game? The freebee has very nice graphics and sound (on my SoundBlaster), and the VR effect is fast and smooth, but the game is a bit boring after a while. I liked the AppleII version better. I didn't get to many of the secret rooms, or get all of the treasure, but the game doesn't seem to care if you do or not. Are all the secret rooms only behind walls? Is there anything in the barrels or boxes? Are there any Top Secret Plans to be found? Can you make one of the dogs your pet, and teach him to fetch? Wolf3d is a great start, but the authors need to beef it up a lot before I'll be willing to shell out $30-50 for more of the same.
