Such a game will not be appropriate for a long time--certainly the lifetimes of people who lost loved ones in the tragedy. No matter how patriotic or well-intentioned, it would inevitably be perceived as capitalizing upon loss and tragedy. But I can imagine that it might be a good time for fire-fighting games (Burning Rangers, anybody?) so long as they are carefully designed so as not to appear to be making specific reference to 9/11, simply because the heroic and hazardous aspects of fire-fighting were so recently highlighted for all of us.

What gives them, instead of Nintendo, the right to capitalize? > But I can imagine that it might be a good time for fire-fighting games > (Burning Rangers, anybody?) so long as they are carefully designed so > as not to appear to be making specific reference to 9/11, simply > because the heroic and hazardous aspects of fire-fighting were so > recently highlighted for all of us. Yeah. How good could a firefighting game be now? Could they show fire creep realistically, puddles stop fire and boil realistically, smoke rise and buildings collapse realistically? Lots of physics there.

Since when has Coke ever been held to any ethical standards? I mean, it's Coke for God's sake! They're above the LAW! How DARE YOU QUESTION THEM! Ah... Refreshing!

I think the idea is a bit dumb, but not only that... > it would > promote the "good guys" and not murder like Mortal Kombat or Perfect Dark. Murder in Perfect Dark? Sure you can go and kill innocent people in Perfect Dark (the rest is basically self defence) just like you can probably hurl people off the twin towers to their death, or watch them burn to death. There's "bad" stuff in every game (trying to splather the dolphins in wave race for instance), no reason to attack a master piece like Perfect Dark.
