HELP: Star Trek 25th Anniversary..

On Star Trek, the 25th Anniversary Ed., I've reached the mission entitled
Revenge with 17 commendation points. Unfortunately, the battle is next to
impossible, fighting against a clone Enterprise and two Elasi Pirate vessels.
Has anyone gotten past this battle alive? Is it possible to avoid the battle
altogether? Or do I not have enough commendation points to win the battle?
Any insights would be much appreciated..

To put it bluntly, no. At least, not as far as I know. I fought
them countless times until I got it just right. Also, I don't think the
commendation points matter in battle.

Concentrate on the Enterprise and KILL IT!!! then ***SAVE*** **SAVE**
   *SAVE*

Then do a lot of dodging and rolling to fix the shields and damage you
took from his wingmen whil you nailed the faker. Then destroy one
   of the pirates.

Took me three hours to kill them all. *whew!*

It was a nice game, but the battle sequence needs a lot of work. The
controlls are too mushy, it's too hard to move and read the "radar"
display, and it's ***TOOOOOOO*** easy for the enemy to get behind
you. I'll bet the next version will be much better.

I didn't mind the fight sequences at all. One thing to keep in mind
is that you're controlling a starship several hundred meters long... this
isn't WC any more. Ever watched a fight in the real show? Not a hell of a
lot of aerobatics there. Just sit and blast the hell out of the other guy.

Are there any "official" rumors as to a sequel?

I have won this battle multiple times so I know it can be done. It seem
impossible at first (the first 50 times or so) but you can do it.
TIPS:
As soon as the alert sounds raise shields and arm weapons.
Slow to (warp)1 and fire at the Ent2 with phasers until its
in range then blast with phasers and photon t.'s.

Concentrate on the Ent 2 only! Do not try to out steer it.
You must counter steer to get him in your sights.

Remember you ship is (nearly) stopped in space - just rotating.
If your aim is good you can destroy Ent2 in about 4 passes.

Then "Get us out of here Sulu!" and buy some time to repair the
ship. Then kill the "yellow dot" ship first. He seems to fire
more weapons than the "red dot".

However, using this method I have only gotten a 50% evaluation from
s.f. Does anyone know of a more peaceful way to complete this mission?

He's better than buried - he's lost ... The boy, bring me the boy ...
Several million points out of ten ... Ok, here it comes ...
You are standing in its presence ... Sighted "slob" - sank same.

This includes a spoiler, so...

I also used the same strategy of counter turning. But I got the
pirates first, then nailed the clone Enterprise. I got a 100% rating for
this mission, but I think that was because of all the things I did while I
was on board the Republic. And the fact that you only got a 50% may have
something to do with that. What did you do on board the Republic? Did you
check out all the dead bodies? Did you download the captain's log from
Captain Patterson? Did you check out the sickbay, met your ex-girlfriend,
talked to her and had the medical team beam down?

You must've messed up in the communications part. Be sure to always use
the most politic answers you can find! Remember, Kirk want's peace! *snicker*
