Wrong.

I am posting this message from a PC running Linux. It has Windows 3.1
on it, but I haven't used it for over 4 months. (I made the mistake
of installing one of those evil Win-G games and I haven't been able to
make Windows work ever since. Getting it re-installed has been a bottom
priority since I never did anything worthwhile with it anyways.)

It is possible (but rare) to find companies that sell PC's without
Windows pre-installed. (Microsoft has an IMHO unethical policy of
charging less for Windows to PC makers that sign a contract to not
install any competing OS.)

I like PC's because the hardware, while not top-of-the-line, is
cheap and vendor-interchangable. I just hate Microsoft.
