I mean really! BTW: after I made the delivery in Minoc, I >went back into the fellowship hall and stole the money from the package :) Many of the quests are incidental to the game but by the sound of your following comments you are not getting around and talking to the right people and thus picking up the right info/prompts. ie solving the Paws snake venom quest leads you to a guy who buys snake venom - you could probably find this out anyway but the lead in surely helps. > Now for the main question...Where is my magic book? I've seen people talk >about using magic, and there is a section in the manual on how to use it, but I >can't find the DAMN thing! There are magically locked doors in the mines in >Minoc that I would like to get into, but I can't. Also I found a key in the >house of the guy in charge of the mining company in minco, where do I use it? Apropos above sounds like you've yet to settle down into a steady as she goes approach to the game. Throughout the game you need to have spoken to various people, sometimes at disjoint geographical locations, before a sequence of events can occur and/or a needed dialog option will be available. The Yew wisps/emps problem, which is essential to finishing the game, is a good example. If you are running a sound blaster the digitised voice even lets you know when your headed right - a few times - although you will learn not to trust one aspect of the voice as it will lead you astray(a bit cryptic eh). >From the starting point, your initial logical progression is to Paws then the Castle in Britain. If you talk to the king you will answer the spell book question and get some useful stuff. You need an unlock spell for the magically locked doors - and before this you need both the spellbook, to have enough experience and to have bought the spell and have the right ingredients. SPEAK to Lord British!! Also there are bugs in the game so save at key(sic) points and before you sleep. When you sleep put all of your acquired keys in a bag and drop it right next to your bed and on the same screen!!!!!!!!. Do not leave something at a location and expect it to be there when you later return. Some things stay, others disappear. Keep a check on important items in your inventory and be ready to restore to a saved game should they disappear. Also be careful about over loading your inventory and/or getting too much coin on board as I have had some funny effects. Despite the bugs the game is playable and completable. -- Renrut Werdna Probable-Possible, my black hen, She lays eggs in the Relative When. a...@ss.canberra.edu.au She doesn't lay eggs in the Positive Now
