U7: Magic Book?

     O.K., I've been playing U7 for a week now and I feel like I am running
around doing nothing.

<MAYBE SPOILERS>

     Is it really all that important to run around doing all those tasks for
the fellowship? I mean really! BTW: after I made the delivery in Minoc, I
went back into the fellowship hall and stole the money from the package :)

     Now for the main question...Where is my magic book? I've seen people talk
about using magic, and there is a section in the manual on how to use it, but I
can't find the DAMN thing! There are magically locked doors in the mines in
Minoc that I would like to get into, but I can't. Also I found a key in the
house of the guy in charge of the mining company in minco, where do I use it?

Looking for a cool weapon? I found some kind of kick ass wand in a cave
somewhere between minoc and Britain. It was guarded by some big red giant
things but I got it and gave it to Iolo, it's pretty cool.

If a FAQ will answer my questions, could someone send me the location of it,
please.
