(comparing contemporary formats circa 1982) *************** Well David ... so I exagerated. I'm not confused, just generalizing. When VHS came out we ran an evaluation of the then Betamax vs VHS and Beta won by miles and miles. The VHS suffered greatly from cartooning ... it had edges but no detail. VHS is now quite a bit better than it was to start with ... mainly through competitive practices. Beta is almost gone (but not forgotten) ... which is roughly what's happening to Microsoft's competitors ... which afterall was the point of this original thread anyway. I'll give up Beta when my last machine dies just like I gave up Apple and OS/2. We are all doomed to trek the same path into oblivion.
