I thought that the older games released on steam would have been tweaked to work on W7 32 & 64, but I found that is not always the case. Need For Speed Shift would crash when I tried to launch it. Searched online and found that it needs to be set to run in WXP compatibility mode. I did not think it was that old. There should be a note in the Steam store game requirements list or some where that tells you what you need to do for the game to run with WVista, W7.
