I thought "A" allowed you to attack anything that is attackable.  So far 
I've only been playing the campaign (my usual practice with new RTS's) so I 
can't really discuss any skirmish maps (if that's what the temple maps are). 
I seem to recall getting my troops to attack one of their number by accident 
a couple of times using "A,", but I could be mistaken.
