So it does have a copy protection. What a bunch of hypocrites. I am playing
Distant Guns and almost didn't noticed a copy protection at all. And
somebody doesn't need to play it on ANOTHER compute damn it. And if you
want, you can.
Ah, Stardock have sold you story that they are better then others. LOL.
As I said this is very effective copy protection if your new patches will
not work on pirating copies that went on black list. So it is a copy
protection. Even very effective copy protection if you add great new things
into patch and pirates cannot play it.
What is use of 1.0 version of some games when 5th patch change a game so
much and when you cannot play multiplayer etc...

I am not talking about Starforce. Even me see that it is too radical.
Effective but radical.

Ah, yes... Splendid. Battlefront.com. Storm Eagle Studios, Paradox
Interactive are all for boycotting? They use product activation. That
crusade like pc games is really out of reality.

Well, then be happy with your Stardock, Gal Civ II etc...

I ain't gonna hold my purchase of great Theatre of War just because some
bozos on Usenet are spreading prophecy how activation is bad. LOL
You are becoming too radical, like some terrorist groups :)

Well, vote with your dollar nobody is denying you the rights but you all are
bozos for me because that product activation is not so big thing as you
think. Not at all.
In fact there should be a debate what is better and effective: product
activation where you don't get pirated or patches that pirates do not crack
(game is too obscure - OK sometimes they crack the patch but mostly for
mainstream games!) which gives a adverstising as some who pirated game will
want to move from 1.0 version and will buy the game (many wouldn't I agree
on that).

So don't just pack this crap like Gal Civ II is not copy protected, or
Matrix, or Shrapnel Games, their protection is maybe even better than of
some product activation games as I explained before. They are obscure to
crack and too complicated for those who like it to wait for a crack - in
many cases they will buy the game (because crack will never if ever come).

So I really don't see a problem here. We have lunatic PC Games who is
working for Valve ( they cannot think of better ad) and we have some bozos
who are trying to destroy some rather tiny studios who applied product
activation. This other group would be better to demonstrate against war in
Iraq, or Vietnam(is that over there? lol) or whatever, whales rights,
drwarfs right, female voting etc?
