This was a $10 purchase on Steam I picked up last fall, but I never loaded it up. I guess because I knew I was setting up a new rig soon and didn't want to install and get involved in anything on my old rig? I really don't remember, but I fired it up this weekend and it is quite a treat, especially at the $10 price point. Very surprised at the overall polish and fun factor. The graphics are stylized/cartoonish, but still a very visually appealing world. At the moment I'm a bit pissed at the game, because while down in a dungeon I ended up getting cursed (health drops to almost nothing until you find a healer), and there's no way I can get past the obstacles ahead so it's looking like my only option is to back out of the dungeon and go to a town to find a healer, or load an earlier save. That sort of shit irks me, but honestly I think I already got my ten bucks worth even if I stopped playing right now.

I bought K0A -- Complete Pack'(all DLC) for $9.99 in a Steam sale last November. What a great 'steal'. Certainly for me as a Single-Play RPG enthusiast. Was lucky enough to pick up Dragon Age: Origins -Ultimate Edition for $7.49 in another Steam sale last June. Another terrific 'steal' . Both games run perfectly under Win7-64, SLI and G-Sync. Great Gameplay and Gorgeous Graphics Goodness...... John Lewis

I've been a fan since its release.
There wont be any sequel as the firm went bust shortly after release.
I've noticed it runs well - looks good- on very modest Hardware .
P4 with AGP graphics, WIN XP , 3 GB Ram - Kingdoms drove that almost 100%
CPU & GPU
it used that hardware harder than any other game I've tried.
IMO you have to force yourself to concentrate on the central quest to get
into the game.
as It throws many, many side quest at you.

Someone somewhere is enjoying the profits from ongoing discounted sales though :) Although it doesn't surprise me they didn't make it. As I played this game I thought someone spent a lot of time and effort on this (apparently too much time compared to what gamers are willing to pay for games these days). >I've noticed it runs well - looks good- on very modest Hardware . >P4 with AGP graphics, WIN XP , 3 GB Ram - Kingdoms drove that almost 100% >CPU & GPU >it used that hardware harder than any other game I've tried. I haven't tried it on modest hardware, but that's one benefit of cartoonish graphics. Once you don't need complex shadows and so forth, you can reach users with much more modest requirements. I think that's one reason World of Warcraft achieved the success it did. Knowing that MMO graphics by definition are always going to be crappier than their SP counterparts, they didn't even try to convey realism, they just defined their own version of a fantasy world. >IMO you have to force yourself to concentrate on the central quest to get >into the game. >as It throws many, many side quest at you. I noticed that and I'm not a big fan of sidequests. In a typical RPG, my goal, assuming I like the game, is to get through the main quest and evaluate it based on the part of the game the team spent the most time on. Technically if I like it well enough I might do some alternate quest later, but after I've spent a dozen or so hours in a game I'm usually looking for a permanent door out.

One of the things that strikes me about it is the attention to combat. Each enemy you encounter is so well-done (their combat animations, etc), which makes it interesting every time you come across a new enemy type. And, the finishing moves, etc. add fun factor. While I was in the middle of this, the Rainbow Six Siege closed alpha test began, which pulled me away from KOA (for now at least), but I hope to return. Also was very glad to see that RSS will not disappoint -- it's intense as hell.

I played a mage and a thief type across the ocean and some way into the next continent but never finished the game, I should really fire it up again and make some new characters because I will have forgotten way too much by now. Some of the higher end mage spells are just ... WOW. ;-) -P.
