I haven't played this game yet. I see it's out on Steam. I also know that a lot of people have had horrid things to say about the DRM on this game. How does that pan out with the Steam version? Is there any DRM beyond the normal 'must have Steam running' which can be set to running Steam in offline mode and the game is still playable when the net is down. If the game wants to connect to other servers as well, each time, I would not want to go there .... -P. --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Playing via Steam I did not notice any DRM problems, though I am online always. "Natural Bodies" mod is a must. The game is quite retarded (forget Baldur's Gate). Combat is dull (NWN2 is so superior). After few hours I installed "Sappho's Daughters" mod and thus was able to get some fun. "Awakening" is (more or less) good, but not that long. DA2 is a vomit. -- Andrew Rybenkov

I didn't try any mods or dlcs when I played it, but it seemed decent. It seems to me almost required to play a magic-user of some sort, as you don't get one for a good portion of the beginning of the game, and even when you do, you might not care for the one you get. I abandoned my first character, a dwarf fighter because of this. I really enjoyed finding the origin of the humanoids in the dwarven mines, though it seemed more like a horror game than a fantasy rpg. It's also the best rendition of a dwarven city I've seen in an RPG. Other than those high points it's just o.k. > DA2 is a vomit. Haven't tried that one yet. - Justisaur
