If there is a Risen I hope to god they sort the melee combat out. I tried
Risen 2 for about 15-20 minutes, got in to my first fight and un-installed.
Simply awful. The original wasn't brilliant but it was far more fun and
intuitive than that rubbish.

Yea, I didn't have a problem with melee combat in Gothis 3 like everyone 
else seemed to have at the time but Risen 2 just felt wonky to me, I 
still have it installed but the whole pirate thing didn't grab me either 
so I'll probably just un-install for now and wait for a community patch 
of sorts to arrive.

Risen 1 was a little better in that regard but the game world was so 
tiny and un-inspired that I never managed to finish it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Risen 3, if they manage to make it half 
as immersive and fun as G2 and G3 I'll be in heaven.

I've had a good search around & there is no sign of a release date
(its only a year since Risen 2 came out)

Like others people I am certainly interested but it needs to be better than 
2.
Looks as tho Risen 3 continues in the Pirate Theme of 2
