My oppinion is that you shouldn't try to satisfy everyone. This could lead to trying to through together a lot of stuff that doesn't fit. Some of the suggestions for combat have been very interesting but might be too complicated. I think you should be able to specify a default action for party members, as well as a one time thing. For example: as soon as combat starts, Jaana will cast fireball. From then on, if someone falls below 1 h.p., she will heal them. Otherwise she will attack the closest monster with whatever weapon she has equiped. Dupre will attack the closest monster with whatever he has equiped, unless someone falls below 1 h.p., in which case he will protect them. And be able to pause the game in the middle of combat to adjust strategies. So for the most part, you begin combat and watch, as in U7, but you can change the plans at any point. I think this could allow party members to cast spells, because you would be telling them which spells to cast. The alternative would be the option to choose computer controlled or turn based combat. But aside from all the big stuff, the little details can make a big difference in the game. Things like clouds moving over the sun, and the wind blowing in U7. I liked the fact that NPCs had their own lives and scheduals. I also like the idea of auto-notes for conversation. I'm sure the graphics and the music will be excelent as usual. And don't worry too much about making the release date. Blessed Be, Cyrf

Yet ANOTHER suggestion... One thing about U7/U7.5 that pissed me off. Characters would equip themselves. BAD IDEA! I *HATE* having the computer decide to use a Glass Sword to kill Slime! They should leave the weapon they have in there hand and use it. Either way, don't just have them equip the best weapon they have and use it... (I lose to many glass swords/get hit with to many fire doom blow/etc that way.) -- Jason #include "ultima9.suggestions.h" -- "In another world, in a time to come" ... maybe Ultima will return; and since Origin is listening, you bet it will!!
