Strike Commander running perfectly from a SINGLE speed drive? Did you run it with the barest minimum HD installation? Privateer I can believe coz there is no external scenery to move. And UW1 & 2 WOULD run perfectly, because the people responcible for programming that are not IN-HOUSE Origin programmers... though I do not know the answer to this, I am willing to bet that "System Shock" will run acceptably from a CD-ROM in minimum HD installation with the highest set graphic resolution... but like I said I am not sure - can anyone out there confirm or deny this? (on a 486dx33 machine, ie)... because the LGT programmers have thus far performed "miracles". I would be hard pressed to find any other single programming team at the moment that has been efficient with their code as Looking Glass Technologies have been. But I digress. WC2 WOULD run fine, because this was the one game engine that Origin worked on that was perfect - for its time AND afterwards; and remember that Chris Roberts worked on it, and was also made on the heyday of Origin when they paid more attention to insignificant details such as this. (the game ran pretty fine even on a 286, would you believe). Maybe I am wrong... maybe I was carried away with my disappointments on Origin's newer releases and forgot they were NOT released on CD. But my initial question still stands: though they did improve the game something shocking when they put it on CD, does SC _really_ run perfectly from a 1x speed drive? - Falcon
