In fact, Obsidian is using the Unity engine for Pillars of Eternity.
I'm not sure why that matters though, this isn't an FPS.  The fact that
it's being made by Obsidian should matter much more, whether you think
that's good or bad.  It's hard to see how using, say, the Unreal engine
instead would make it a better game.
