(Serious question, > not an attempt to flame.) For all Steam games I have installed so far it wants to be online for the initial install, to verify the game is a genuine copy, but after that you can run Steam in offline mode and it won't even try to connect to the net to activate/verify the game ... unlike for instance some of the crap Ubisoft came up with. I don't use cloud based saves, since I don't play the same game on two platforms that access the same Steam account, and so that issue (or saving 'achievements' back to Steam) is no impediment as far as I am concerned. h.t.h., -P. Currently I have Legendary Heroes, Civ V, Tropico 4 & Skyrim installed that play through Steam, and I must say I haven't had any issues other than having lost my password to my old Steam account and Civ V going into an endless loop on updating the game on first install. A reset sorted that one out. --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Antivirus protection is active. http://www.avast.com
