If your CPU is overheating and you're not overclocking, you need to do
something about your airflow or perhaps look into a dust issue. In
many of my systems I've seen the CPU start getting to 90-100C in
games, then I get out the compressed air and get the dust off the
heatsink and it drops to 60C.

If your GPU is overheating and you're not overclocking, the above
could apply but you might just look into getting a better video card.

My current GTX690 is the fastest single card nVidia solution you can
buy, yet there's probably nothing you can throw at it to push it much
past 55C even with moderate air cooling.

Modern systems run cooler than ever yet do much more. If you have a
heat problem its your PC and not the games.
