Well, that may be true, but right now I am enjoying AION more than any
other game I tried in the last three years. I'm going to go ahead and
keep on enjoying it, until I tire of it.

I know of no MMORPG that doesn't depend on a lot of repetitive grinding.
I am leaving WOW, where it is quite customary for people to do the
same ding-dong dungeon run repeatedly - so that everybody in the circle
of friends has a chance at the uber loot that rarely drops. Then they
do it again, and again, until everybody actually gets the rare drop.

WOW has thousands of quests, more than any other MMORPG, maybe. Oddly,
many dedicated WOW players never do quests. They don't care how much XP
you can get from quests. They hate quests. They'd rather raid.

Farming for materials for crafting, or for quest items, or for the XP...
or running the same dad-blasted dungeon or raid over and over and over
for the uber lewt. Seriously,

1) What's the difference?
2) Who's worried about it?

Notice on the page you linked to that they don't count the XP you get
from fighting for your life to the quest area, and through the
quest-related and other easily-annoyed nearby creatures, and on you way
back to the questgiver. I mean, if all that doesn't count, then SURE.
I can see where they get their numbers.

But simply returning to the questgiver for the fulfillment reward is a
tiny part of the total quest XP, IMHO. The final quest reward is not
where the XP comes from, it comes from just getting to the quest,
acquiring the quest items, and getting back alive. The final
fulfillment reward is not the whole sundae, it's just the cherry on top.

Might as well say the only calories in the sundae that count are the
ones in the cherry. If Only That Were True.
