I loved Ultima 4, 5, and 7 part I. 7 part two was too linear, and seemed much more like work than fun. Ultima 8, in my opinion wasn't role playing, and I wouldn't play it. I want something that will involve me, but not so much so that I begin to hate the whole quest all together. Even though I can't give you specifics, I can say that I would like to see more people traveling from city to city, and much much more contact between one NPC and another. Hence when I kill someones only child, that person should be very upset (especially a day or two later), and if they think, or know it was me, they should act that way. Although slautering an entire town and getting away with it was fun, it wasn't realistic, and for an AVATAR, it is unthinkable. By the way, what ever happened to being an AVATAR and behaving like one? I also dislike the way many games are made lately, centered on getting the ultimate weapon to kill the ultimate bad guy. Part 7 was nice because you were not just in conflict with one person, or that persons army, but with an entire way of thought and living (the fellowship). Those are just some of my thoughts, I hope that Ultima changes back to an enjoyable CRPG in #9, otherwise, it will be just annother lost series that will not die (like the movie Friday the 13th). P.S. I sell your products along with several hundred other software games, and the thoughts I share with you are also the thoughts of many of my customers. I am sure others feel differently, just not the ones in my area.
