There are : games, that I personally think are more pretty in vga than svga! : I think KQ5 & KQ6 are far prettier than KQ7. It seems, that the : artists get sloppy, when they have all these pixels to fill. they just : scan something in, and rely completely on dithering to represent : colors, thus making the games really ugly on large/sharp monitors. : With the old MCGA games, although there's "jaggies", the coloring : seems much better! Another game, that look good in lo-res, IMHO, is : Ray-man. But then again, it's all just my opinion. : : Regards JaM : Hi-resolution graphics should be an improvement but it seems more in terms of the sharpness and clarity. I think KQ V 's graphics look more breathtaking and colourful than either of the sequels. Every scene is so beautifully rendered. So does Heart of China which looks more like carefully drawn water paintings than computer screens with some that look like they could be hanging on the walls in an arts exhibition without being out of place. Another game I can think of right now is Quest for Glory I VGA remake. Though not all screens are good to look at, those that look good are very good indeed. And close-ups of the characters in the conversation in whatever ways they are clay-modelled or drawn look very 3-D, beautiful and real (in the gaming context), e.g., the kattas, that it is not surprising that I don't come across anything better , even the upcoming QG5's gargoyle doesn't look as good. However, what draws me more into these games are not the graphics but the music especially Heart of China which has a dynamic, exotic, fantastic full-length score that easily rivals any games to-date, even those using streaming or redbook audio. Pretty pictures fades as fog disappears in daybreak while lilting music lingers on.....
